i have recently noticed that when i punch it in first second or third gear in my car that it accelerates to about 3000-3500 rpm and then the rpms climb but it doens't accelerate like it should. it doesn't put you in your seat like it should in those gears. help me i have no idea what it is. I thought it was the flywheel but i'm not sure.

I have the same problem. I haven't fixed it yet but it looks like a clogged fuel filter. You can check out some of the suggestions other people gave me. It's under power loss (Joe'sSHO) they had some good ideas that will probably help you. But to be sure you really should run the codes.

the clutch was replaced around 50 thousand miles, i'm not 100% sure because it was my dad's car before he gave it to me. i know that he didn't put a stock clutch in it because it was eating up the stockers. not sure what kind of clutch it is i know it's heavy duty though. the codes i don't have a way of telling because i don't have a code tool. i think it might be in the pedal now though because the car seems to be ok at certain areas when i push the acc. i had work done on the cable like a year or two ago because it was sticking. is there a way to tell if its the acc. cable or related part for sure?

I would also check for vaccum leaks,i had a crack on a vaccum hose the one on the rear of the intake above the rear valve cover, that connects to a plastic cylinder, that controls air to the seconderies ,forgive me i can't think of what its called at the moment, secondery actuator i believe.

But anyway by fixing that, seem to have gained torque all the way up the rev.

PS:i believe that www.midwestsho.com and www.shotimes.com have write ups on running your codes all you need is a paper clip.

And also a sticky has been posted in this section on the top of the threads.

Good luck.

No one has yet mentioned a clogged exhaust system. You may want to check the catalytic converters and the piping downstream for the "death rattle." This damged cat condition will restrict exhaust flow in the upper rpm ranges and severly limit power.

well it died. i took it out to feed it (get some gas) and when i came back it was puttering. so i let it sit for a while and tried to start the car bout 30 minutes later. no luck the engine isn't getting any fuel. so i had to have it towed. not my first choice but what are you going to do. they told me it was the fuel pump which would make sense and explain the noises it's making. i just want to thank everyone for their input it really helped me out and clamed me down. this site is now a fixture on my favorites list. so i'll be seeing you all around and puting my limited knowledge to use by helping out where i can.

oh p.s. don't **** off scott he's cool, i read that kids posts about his broken frame, what a dick!!!

well the mechanic fixed the fuel pump but now i have another problem. he said that the mass airflow sensor is fried. he asked me how long i had my k&n filter on the intake i told him since july. he said that was probably the reason it was dead. that doesn't make sense to me can anyone help?

That doesn't sound right to me, I don't see how a dirty air filter would "fry" the MAF. Get a K&N recharge kit for the filter, clean and oil it. Take the top of the airbox off and use some electrical contact clean and spray the MAF filament to clean it up. Start with that and see how things go.
