When accelerating from idle not in gear it hesitates for a a second air filter and fuel filter changed still hesitant no problem once it catches just when jamming the gas peddle when idleing??? what could this be? a sensor? fuel injectors?

hmm....try with something easy. check ur spark plugs. when was the last time u replaced them? only get the agsp32pp plugs from motorcraft. they will last you around 60,000 miles.

My bet would be the O2 sensors. Check the codes. They will probably tell you that one or both of your O2's are indicating lean. This causes the EEC to dump too much fuel into the engine when you hit the gas causing the hesitation. If it's more than 60-80K since they've been replaced, then they are due to start going bad. If you need help pulling the codes, let us know.

Fuel injected engines don't have the accelerator pumps of the old carbureted engines that shot a stream of gas into the airflow to provide quick response. The equivalent component on the SHO's engine is the throttle position sensor that notifies the EEC that the throttle position has been opened quickly and has the EEC instruct the fuel injectors to stay open a little longer than the air/fuel curve would normally demand at that rpm and airflow. You just won't get the instant engine pickup that you might expect when drastically opening the throttle. Especially at idle when not in gear. There may not be anything out of the usual with your engine unless you experience hesitation when accelerating in gear while driving. Then you may have a dead spot in the windings in the throttle position sensor and need to replace this easy-to-get-to sensor.
