My brake lines on my 95 SHO, 3.0 liter are rusted pretty bad at the front proportioning valve located on the frame beneath the brake master cylinder.
Is the HCU assembly (pumpunit located beneath the ABS control unit?
Does anyone know of any aftermarket vendors that stock them.

The dealer wants $915 for one, trying to pick one up for less than that price.
I look at RockAuto and I'm not sure what part to get. They have a listing for the ABS actuator and a ABS pump and motor assembly.
Anyone have any images of these parts?

Thanks in advance.

That is the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) that you are talking about.
If your brake lines are rusty, you don't need a new HCU.
Take a look at the part numbers for the unit on Rockauto and go to the information section and see what else it fits. You may be able to get a used one knowing that (if you want). They usually share a lot of parts with Lincoln and other Taurus / Sable models.
If I am not mistaken, the brake lines were designed with a corrosion allowance, and although they are unsightly, I doubt if they are beyond that allowance. What kills them is the fact they can get tugged and moved, and they can break from that, but the lines you are talking about are well protected and not likely to be snagged.

I had mine rust out in the same spot. When I bought the car I did both rear lines, and a year later I hit the brakes hard and popped one of the lines going from the inner fender to the ABS actuator thing. There was no way to just replace the one line without disturbing the other badly rusted lines, so I replaced them all.

That thing on the inner fender is actually just a union with a plastic housing over it btw.

If you live somewhere where they salt the roads in the winter there is a good chance you need to replace them. Cost me $20 in parts and took me 5 hours or so to do.

you just need a couple pieces of new brake line, a flaring tool, and some tubing cutters.

Thank you for your responses. Exactly what happened to me driving in Boston. I hit the brake a little too hard and the brake ruptured and pedal went to the floor.
I had to replaced the brake line and decided to replace the all the lines.
I traced the line to the front proportioning valve and noticed all the lines are rusted. The brake lines connected to the valve are so rusted they look like they will break when trying to loosen the fittings to the valve.
The ABS were operating fine before the line ruptured. I thought the HCU had to be purchased with valve, pump as a assembly.

Its really tight getting to I may have to remove the air intake assembly to get access to it. I'm hoping that the ABS pump is okay, it was working fine before the brake problems.
I know I will definitely have to bleed the system.

Loudsho is locating parts for me, these parts aren't sold at the dealer, and auto parts don't stock them. Thanks for the images.

Thanks again guys.

I have a brand new Ford pump unit, $150 shipped. It is only for the 95 SHO. Please check my classified ad, I am who you want to check with for discounted Ford parts. For every item sold, money is raised for SHOForum.

By the way, there's a valve block and pump unit, two seperate items of the HCU. The valve block is the one the lines go into and most expensive, the pump is the cylinder shaped unit which is still expensive.

Sorry guys haven't seen the latest posts. I'm grateful for the help I received from everyone here.
Tysho sold me the Abs pump. I purchase the brake line assembly that connects to the master cylinder to the Abs pump from Shosource.
I was communicating between several people and I needed the parts right away. My daily driver Sho has been sidelined for a month now.
Shosource stayed in contact with me from the beginning. They located rear suspenion parts, swaybar endlinks and strut rods with bushings.

Like to add that my Sho has given me 10 years of trouble free performance.
I haven't had to do any repairs until now and parts are obsolete and hard to find.

Again sorry for not following up right away.
Thanks again.
