I need to upgrade my battery terminals since they are really messed up, and I'm in need of battery terminals that can handle more wires. I have 4 gauge wire running to an amp.

I'm thinking of getting either one of these two

Which one would be better? First one looks easy to install, but will the wires be securely connected? Second one can have as many as connections you want, but I will have to get ring connectors, and I'm on really low budget.

What do you guys think?

Either one will work. I like ring terminals better because they are easy to disconnect. I currently have cheapo marine terminals on my battery, but the stud/wingnut on the positve terminal is a little too close to the hood for me. I want to stick with the ring terminals, so something like your second one would work.

Also try www.knukonceptz.com They have a pair of terminals that might work for you - kind of a combination of the two you posted.

Yeah I thought about getting all the stuff from knukonceptz, but they don't have looming stuff.

Do you also know how big battery to solenoid wire is? is it 2 gauge?

Ive had the Monster version of your first option for a long time and it has lasted a long time it works really well. The installation was pretty easy. They have held in pretty good.

I prefer your second option, the ring terminal type. Not a fan of the screw down clamping of the wires themselves, usually not built as robustly. Wires can pull out, easier for corrosion to get inside there, overall just meh. The ring terminals the way to go, add as much as you want to it.

Trick with ring terminals is making sure that the ring terminal is attached to the wire solidly enough, a bit of solder, some heat, and a big hammer or vice grip. Dont forget heat shrink tubing everything, make it pretty.

Second one would my choice as well but keep in mind he said that he was on a budget. That one would also make him have to spend more money on the ring terminals.

The first one will work if installed correctly. Lotta people don't like the scew in type but if its done right the first time, you won't have a problem.

The cost of copper ring terminals is minimal for the benefit. Ease of disconnection and reconnection without sacrificing contact and seal.

Also, does anyone else slather up dielectric all over their terminals and wiring to cut down on crud build up?
