A new blue .........read this

I have been searching this forum for awnsers and i have come up very little concrete diagnosis.

I thought that today when i was blasting around on my lunch break that it was dust behind me . I puched it again and it was blue smoke . :hpoop: however it hardly smokes @ all untill the powerband ( 3900 or something)

1. would be ofcouse valve stem seals . I read that valve stem seals give some smoke @ cold start up and when u punch the throttle . But my situation is not a litte smoke ( i can see it in my side veiw @ 40 mph )

2. Front Main Seal , OK ......... please let me how burning oil with a bad front crank seal is possible . :corn: I may be over lookin the obvious , wouldn't i have a very noticable oil leak under my parked car ?


any ideas , also i am getting some valve stem seals this week and I think it is a good idea to replace what ever else while i got my rust bucket apart

thats right rust bucket , I pulled off the plastics on the rear pass. and rusted out .I got the fix .........fiberglass don't rust

If your do the stem seals I would replace the following:

Valve cover seals
Plug well seals
All 3 camshaft seals
Front main seal
Intake manafold gaskets

Those are your major leakers in high milage cars. You may want to replace the following also since you will have it apart:

Timing belt
Timing chains & clear out or replace the tensioners (the tensioners are usually just clogged up gunk)
Water pump
Accessory belts
Clean the gunk out of the intake and throttle body. You will need an intake manafold gasket kit for that.
