I went all the way to 100 mph in 3rd gear yesterday and when i hit 100 I shifted to 4th then let off the gas after about 3 seconds after shifting. I looked in my rear view and there were plumes of gray smoke and I smelled burnt oil.
At idle and part throttle theres no smoke, only at WOT.
Are my valve seals gone?
Also every once in a while when i start the car up after its been sitting for a few hours there will be this same gray lingering smoke.
Doesn't happen all the time, only sometimes.
Engine has 154.*** miles

Sounds like the valve seals are not perfect anymore, not bad - but not perfect. One theory is you pump the valve cover area full of oil during the extreme high revs and when you decelerate, you drag the oil down the valve stems as a result of the low pressure area created when your intake is restricted. Another theory is that low pressure zone you create when you decelerate entices the oil up past the scraper rings on your pistons.
The puff of smoke after the car has sat is classic valve seals.

Plus, the vacuum you create when you snap the throttle closed at 7000 rpm is a lot more intense than at low rpms, so it will pull a lot more oil past the valve stem seals in that situation....
