Hello sho'ers
My 92 has had a slow leak in the A/C system for a couple of years now, but ussually a recharge at the begining of summer would suffice for the year. This year (in the peak of the heat of course) a month after the recharge... click, nothing. The comressor will cycle ~6/min, but will only stay engaged for less than a second.
I took it to a shop that told me that the compressor has a very large leak and needs replacement. They also quoted me $1150, which is almost as much as the cars worth.
Where can I find a new compressor that I can install myself this winter. What else is involved in an A/C system refurb. Are there any kits availible with hoses, o rings, etc. They also mentioned that the accumulator is going. What is entailed in that repair?
