I tend to agree, after seeing the 99 wheels I'm not that excited about them - they seem kinda bland / generic looking. (I like the 96-98 wheels better.)

But I also think the slicers look stupid mounted backwards, and it seems I see as many that way as correctly mounted... (including the red one that's in the banner at the top of virtually all pages on this site)

I don't really like 6 spoke wheels, so was thinking about some 5 spoke ones, and refuse to put on heavier wheels than stock, and won't spend $200+ each, so the choices are sorta limited - that's why I wanted to see the 99's.

Thanks for the photos.

Honestly, I don't think the pics do it much justice, it looked pretty nice in person because the wheels have a machined but high-polish looking finish. I've always been a fan of the 99 wheels with the circular portion painted black like the "100th Anniversary" edition Taurus wheels.

Should have kept the SHO. And the Ty too.

Oh yeah? I think so too...that's why I'm buyin it back :-D Oh, and we still have the Ty...

I ran them briefly on my black 89 I used to have and they looked sweet on it. I forget what I did with those wheels now.

Yup, and I was going to get a set before I got my rims. I think they are the best looking factory Taurus wheel period.

Nice! Getting back in the SHO game. Buying it anytime soon?

And I thought I saw something on the SHOcago forum about the Ty being sold....guess not. Good call on that one. If you ever get rid of it, LMK! Always wanted one.

Keep in mind that until '93 or '94 (someone with their SHO trivia nailed down would know) there wasn't such thing as a "backwards" slicer, since they were not directional.

Once you see directional slicers though, the older ones can look a little strange.

93+ had directional wheels. The red one in the banner at the top of the page is a 94 or 95 (has body colored door handles) and has the front wheels mounted properly, and the rear wheels mounted backwards. I think that looks really lame.
