Well, its done it to me twice now since ive owned it, and left me stranded the second time. It will start, run, and drive perfect until it happens. You go to start it and nothing, just cranks, the first time i came back to it about 3 hours later and it fired right up. The second, i had it towed home, 24 hours later i was checking to see if it had spark after trying to start it a few more times, and it fired up with the plug and coil out.

When I had the plug and coil out it took quite a few cranks to get any sort of spark out of it. Anyways, im at a loss of what it would be, there are no codes, except for trans range P/N not found, but im sure thats from the swap.

Vid of spark test.

No, didnt look at the pigtail,(had you said that before?) and yes, the engine light stays on while cranking. But no codes.

CEL on when cranking = crank sensor issue. Check the wiring, like James said. It could be shorting out on something at random times.

How is the weather when you have an issue? Colder, then when it's warm, it's okay?

My 98 did that a few weeks ago....turned out the crank sensor harness had popped out of its lil nook and got cut on the belt. One tow and two species later, all was well.

Well, We'll see if its fixed. I would put money on it though. Jc put the new sensor in for mr tonight while I was on the road. The car is noticeably different. Idle is rock solid and smoother, and seems to have more pep.

We'll see what it does in the next few days here.

Thanks!
