There was a redeisign for the 94 MY, they used a new style caliper. The bolt pattern for the new caliper it the same one as the current Taurus.
So for the upgrade to 96 SHO brakes you need.
94-95 Knuckles
96-up SHO Brackets
96-up SHO rotors
the Calipers from 94-99 are the same on any Taurus.
Now what most theifes are doing are selling you on EBAY are 94-94 Knunckles SHO or SLO, 94-99 Calipers (SLO or SHO), 94-95 Taurus Brackets (SLO), 94-99 Taurus Rotors (SLO), and 601 pads.
if you have a 94-95 your upgrade will be
96-up SHO brackets
96-up SHO Rotors
96-up SHO Pads
now if you have a 93 and below you have 2 options
option 1 94-95 Knuckles (no option)must have
94-95 SLO Rotors, SLO Calipers, SLO Pads (601), SLO Brackets.
option 2 94-95 Kunckles (no option)
96-up SHO Rotors, pads(598), calipers and brackets. SOME say Continential parts are the same, I trust the source but personally never seen them.
The difference between the 2 options are 1/4 larger brakes, not a HUGE deal.
The reason people dont just buy this from Doug (FPS) is the cost, he has to make money on this (he was the first to figure it all out) but he like me when sells a kit for a car, refurbs all of the parts includeing new wheel bearings which are very important to do.
I just sold a set of refurbed knuckles to a person, for 200.00 . but they were glass beaded, new bearings were pressed into them, zinc etching primer, and a nice layer of paint. its all buyer beware, you get what you pay for, buying used stuff when it comes to brakes and bearing can be hard sometimes.
