I know "Use the search function". I have and I've searched every way I can think of but I'm still a lil unclear on the correct parts. The SHOTimes list is nice but doesn't make the required donar vehicle too clear. I'm thinkin' of takin' a 1 3/4 hour drive up north on Friday to some huge 100 acre junk yard (my friend needs some dual exhaust for his '81 Crown Vic too) and I wanna make sure I get the right parts. Please correct me if I'm wrong:

Caliper from a '94+ Taurus/Sable/Continental (no Town Cars??)

Caliper Bracket from a '96+ Continental (no '96+ Taurus/Sable??)

Brake Rotors from a '95+ Continental or '96+ SHO

Knuckles from a 94/95 Taurus/Sable/Continental/SHO

Am I missin' anything?? What tools am I gonna need to get them off?? Can I just grab the whole brakes/wheels off a '96+ Continental?? shrug

is the "knuckle" the part that you'd call a "spindle" on a truck? The part that connects from the lower control arm to the bracket attached to the strut cartridge?

the knuckle is where the caliper bracket bolts onto, for cars. not sure about trucks, depending which truck.

so it's the piece that gets the ball joint in the bottom and the two bolts on the strut cartridge?

BUMP: i have a question about that 50 bucks worth of bolts and whatnot. Why cant you reuse the old ones? 50 bucks seems like a bit much.

u can try the '91 brake hoses to see if it fits. '93 brake hoses and above were recommended.

not sure if the gen 1s share the same brake hoses with the gen 2s.

for under $90, u can get the stainless steel braided brake hose lines from jegs, all four. its listed under '94-'95 SHO, it fits the '93s....

IMO, the only part you'll want to pick up from the boneyard is the knuckles (call them spindles if you like). The other parts you can get reman. at your local parts store.

You'll want the knuckles from a 94/95 Taurus/Sable with ABS. I don't know if the knuckles from a Continental are the same. Maybe I can sneak a peak under my neighbor's Conti sometime. :)

IMO the best way to get the other big parts is from Advanced. Get the loaded calipers that come with the brackets and pads.

Its not necessary to buy new brake lines, but while you're in there...
