I just received a 95 hard button unit. plugged it in and button function works fine but no illumination. Is the wiring setup on the 95 the same as the 94? This unit is mint and I hate to send it back. I notice the panal board is somewhat different however the two wire plugs seem the same. Help

IIRC its a plug and play. Make sure you check all the pins in the connector make sure none are bent and are not making contact.

The pins are all straight

I checked the pins and they are all straight. Put the old one back and it lit up fine. Could something have fried in the 95 unit due to a wreck? I have read that the units are interchangable.

do you have a pic of the new unit? maybe someone sent you a lincoln unit instead, with the rounder buttons. this one is not plug and play. does it have the max ac instead of the vent button?

It has a vent button. I noticed the pins have a greenish coating just like the ones on the unit that came out. Is this a lubricant or corrosion?

I just received a unit out of a Lincoln Town Car (1995). I put it in my 95 SHO and it did not function. It lit up but didn't make anything function. The unit looks identical except for the rear case is white instead of black. Do you know if this should have worked? or will it not work ever?

Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated.

why dont you just swap the buttons into the working 94 unitGood idea. Is it much of a job and do you need tiny little fingers to do it? It is a shame to throw this nice clean unit away.

The only units that are plug and play are from 90-95 Taurus/Sables and 89-94 Continentals
