Well one of my rear right brake pads is gone somehow so im replacing the pads and rotors. Now i might replace the calipers too but how would i hook the emergency brake cables back up? They're way to tight to budge..Is there a way to take away tension in the cables? Also i just read that ill need a special tool to push the piston back in...Can i get this tool at murrays or autozone?

Being here in the great rust belt, you will find several problems with the rear brakes. Frozen/rusted/locked up slider pins, and seized parking brake cables.
If the cables are seized just go ahead and cut the ends off, you will not be able to free up a seized cable. A good tool for getting the end of the cable off the arm is actually a door panel removal tool. Looks like a fat bent screwdriver that has a split end.
There are severals types of tools for turning the rear pistons back in. The key word is TURN, they actually screw back in for the rear brakes. You can find those tools anywhere, some take more dexterity than others. Have fun.

I bend the metal part crimped and curled around the end of the cable that keeps it in place. Just use a vise grips or channel locks. When you reinstall bend it back.

It's easier to just get new rebuilt ones from AutoAZone. Lifetime guarantee and not too expensive.

Also, be aware that the slider pins may be part of your problem, and do not always come with the caliper.
They are often sold as a seperaite part (Caliper Bracket), and even then don't always come with slider pins and greese boots.
If the pins that the caliper bolts to do not move in and out freely then you will need to either extract them or replace them.
Edit: Was it one of the inside pads that came up missing?

I wasn't sure if you're meaning on gone brake pad was disappeared, or burnt up, if it burnt up the pads I would definetly suggest replacing the flex hose break line, mine collapsed internally and seized the caliper twice before I figured it out.

Also, the special "tool" you can either get one of the rental kits they sometimes offer at your local auto parts store, or if you were looking for it, its a brass cube with differently placed points and fits onto a basic rachet.

It was the outside pad that fell off.. I just cut the end of the e-brake cable off and put evertything back together using a caliper piston tool but when I went to bleed that brake no brake fluid came out and the piston didnt budge. Is my caliper done for? Are the slider pins the parts that the bolts screw into and have rubber boots over?

edit: there was brake fluid all over my caliper and along my wheel well as if the caliper exploded and fluid ran onto my wheel then shot onto the wheel well. ill probably need a caliper.

i learned something about stock rear calipers. i had on my taurus GL which i learned is the same as the SHO's that when they need replaced is when they start making noise. i had my back drivers side of my GL tire shooting flames out before it got so hot.
somehow it didnt catch the tire on fire but it was one **** of a time getting it out with what was avaible.. snow.
