Hey all,

I just bought a '93 SHO that has been sitting for a while and I am going to pick it up this weekend. I was wondering what you think that I should do to get this thing running.

Basically it blows black badly out of the tailpipes. It also sounds like it is a diesel. It has been sitting for a while, so I am going to do a few things to it before I drive it home.

1:Change oil
2:purge fuel out of tank-replace with new
3:clean fuel injectors.

Can you think of anything else that I should do to a car that's been sitting?

also I am looking for suggestions on where to look for the problem of the black smoke... I am going to do a few things to it that I think may remedy the problem...
1: change MAF
2) clean ACT
3) check timing

What else should I bring off of my car to try, or what else should I look for that would cause a car to run black and idle like a diesel?

Thanks for all replys in advance. I will be tearing into it this weekend and see what I can get. I will keep you posted and keep any and all suggestions coming...

Could be possible to have the sparkplug wires on wrong at the Coilpack end... Make sure the wiring is correct. I had made that mistake once and the car would run, but it smoked and didn't sound right.
