I've owned my car for about 15k now and it's always slipped a bit in the 1-2 shift since I've owned it. I'm going to be swapping in a lower mileage engine in the coming weeks so I figure now is a good time to take care of the tranny as well. I know the 93 is said to be the weakest of the ATX's. Will rebuilding the 93 along with installing a trans-go and tranny cooler take care of those problems or would I be better off finding a 94-95 tranny and rebuilding that instead?

I just installed a 95' Ford rebuilt ATX in my SHO. I had a tranny shop install the TransGo Shift Kit for me. I would reccomned talking to an experienced TransGo installer before having the kit installed, there are some optional springs that make for tire chirping shifts. My installer did not install those springs and I am very happy that it feels like an MTX on full-throttle shifts and smooth in regular driving.
