My M/C blew on me on the 27th almost causing a wreck. Anyway, I have the new M/C, got 4 new rotors and pads.

Question is about the brake bias plugs I have read about. Please forgive my ignorance. I have searched the forums, but I still don't know what they are or what they look like.

There is a low mileage Sable at my local J-Y with rear drums. I do have working ABS and will have a mech friend assisting me with the bench and standard bleed and most of the brake job. I hope he can assist with the ABS bleed.

If someone is willing, could you give me some additional info on the brake bias plugs with a picture? I understand what I have read about getting more braking at the rears with theses. Thanks in advance.

You can get them here and we have a picture as well: SHO Source

The plugs replace the rear bias valve that attaches to the rear control arm. This gives you full breaking in the rear.

If you look under the rear of the car you will see the Bias Valve attached to one of the drivers side control arms. The bias valve has a lever attached to the chassis of the car. As the rear of the car moves up and down the lever opens and closes the valve to increase and decrease fluid flow to the rear brakes. Under hard braking the rear of the car lunges up opening the valve all the way. Over time the bias valve gets rusty and the lever will stick causing slow fluid drain back to the master cylinder or in my case complete lock up of the rear calipers. Bias Plugs go in place of the valves. You disable the lever and this causes full fluid flow 100% of the time.

Thank you Pride, that was the info I was looking for. My valve is SHOT and I don't think it's doing anything. No rear lock up though.
