OK, here's my rough schematic for the custom relay panel I need to build for the SHO relays. Remember this is for a 95 3.2L using the X2J PCM and the MTX component harness. Give me your feedback - am I on the right track?

I based it on available info on the 3.2 and projectSHO89's writeup here.

Although I show it, I did not hook up the Voltage Inverter relay. I also hooked up the A/C relay, but its not going in right now - so its less important.

Thanks

I included a printout of the 94 3.2 SHO IRCM wiring diagram with the plastic mount I sent. When I get to feeling better I will compare yours to it. Maurice

Maurice, hope you get to feeling better. It should be close as I used it for a guide.

I hope also. 2 days off work. I also thought maybe since you are making a custom harness. Use the IRCM base and wire in external relay sockets in place of factory relays and use heavy easier to get relays. This make it necessar to mount in dry location. Maurice

I found some sealed bases & relays that are removable. Not cheap when you figure I have 12 relays between SHO & 914, but worth it in the long run. Since they will all be in one place, I'm thinking I'll get or fab a metal housing for relays & fuse panel.

OK, here's the other side of the previous diagram - from the power distribution box. This is just what's needed for the bench test, so a lot is missing compared to final install.

Can't seem to find any details on the length of the 12 & 18 ga fusible links. Anyone have details?

TIA

Yeh, I stopped by the local Oreily & CarQuest & Ford Dealer - nobody had 12ga or 18ga. Only 14-16ga. So I ended up finding them at Amazon.

Still doesn't address the length issue - since this is a key factor in their use. You can't just stick a couple of inches on and hope it works. And the schematics don't indicate the length either.

I can measure some Ford one's but may not be same as Amazon or someone else. I got some extra wiring so not a problem. Maurice

Maurice, If you can measure the gauge wire & it's the same as what the manual calls, the fusible load should be the same - or at least closer than guessing.

projectSHO89, got cha. I did some more research and from what I can tell the length of the fusible link isn't the issue, its the cross-sectional area.

Sound right? Don't wanna fry the thing.

Anyone have current (amperage) requirements for these relays (FP, PCM, Fans, AC)?
If I buy stand-alone relays I want to make sure I get the right amps. None of the diagrams/schematics I have indicate this.

TIA

If want another option than fuse links can use a Mustang under dash fuse box. Doesn't have enough relays for you use but can use or make another for that. I got a 96 in my yard and have extra one I can look at. Pretty sure have diagram for it. Maurice
