...Dizzy.... You're the best!!

I can't compress my rear calipers. Are the pistons seized or is there a special procedure. I need help. Thanks.
I took the left rear caliper off and put it in a vice and still can't compress it. I can turn the end of the piston a little but I'm not sure if that's actually turning the whole piston. Any help here would be GREATLY appreciated!!

You'll need to get the caliper reset tool from autozone or whoever, and you have to twist the caliper in while pushing on it to reset it. Opening the bleed valve throughout this makes the job worlds easier.

I have used channel locks to turn the piston while I used a C-Clamp to push the piston in. The tool makes this much easier.

You can pick up the right tool for $20 at harbor freight with a cupon. Its the same tihng you rent at Autozone, but you can keep it :)

AHHH.. The old twist and compress.... Well, there's 30 minutes of caliper wrestling I can't get back!
So, how far does the piston turn? Is it like a half turn? I'm going to take one to advance today. A guy there had 7 SHO's. I'm sure he'll compress it in about 10 seconds. Hopefully I didn't hurt it by trying to force it. Thanks for the help.

Is this the tool?

That's the tool. I would say on a fully extended caliper you would need to turn it 10 or 15 times.

yeah, but there's alway a chance of the left hand thread biting me in the ass. With my luck and the way things have gone with this car, if I assume clockwise, it'll be wrong. Thanks for the help.

I brought the one caliper into work during lunch and was able to do it with a channel lock and a c-clamp. I've never seen that before but aparantly its pretty common. Everything I've ever worked on compressed straight in. Luckily I have this site to save me $$$ and time getting new rotors... Thanks again!!

Done. Now its time for catback exhaust replacement. So far, I got the old (SHO SHOP) one out (becuase it broke at the "Y"). Now I have to figure out how to get the stock one back in there....
