The reality is that the car needs a lot of work, and contrary to popular belief kid old SHOs are not fast,,weeeee a 14 second car at best stock and if you are not mechanical inclined it,s a damn money pit! Look on the for sale section on here for a much better deal.1800 is is about 4 times to much!Do not give more than 400 bucks for a car you can't drive home,or if you do give him 1800(cause you have a ******* for it and damn I not listening to all these dumb *****) ask him if you can have a bunch of that crack that he,s smoking!

The car is driveable to a point. I am mechanically inclined along with my friends and family. The junkyard up the road has about 3 or 4 SHO's in it. and I know of 3 parts cars. I just cant get a real clear price on it. I might tell him 400 and/or trade something for it. I have access to a garage. Itd be a project, i know. and I know the cars not fast fast but its fun. and funny to line up next to a mustang and look at it in your rearview, with a taurus haha.

that's a $300 parts car to me.

it will cost you at least $2000 to make it worth driving, and that's if you spend 50+ hours of your time wrenching on it.

60k work is at least $450 in parts including water pump
radiator is $75
heater core is another $50
dis is $75
dash is $100 if you can find a decent one + about 10 hours work the first time you do one
wiring to fix the rodent problem is at least $50
windshield is $200+
trans is $300 for a (hopefully) decent used one
struts and strut mounts are $350
that doesn't address the airbag issue which may just be wiring or not

my experience is that what it really ends up costing is double what you think it will, so if that holds the roughly $1500 I have listed above will double by the time you are done, and you will have well over $3k invested in the car.

is that what you want right now? 'cause that's a significant project.

as was said above, you are way better off buying one in decent shape, which should cost you around $2k.

The amount of time and $ to fix the car is well beyond what most people would imagine, who have not owned one, and then more problems will arise after sinking a couple thousand into it. Just keep looking and buy one from an enthusiast that has all the work done and you will be most grateful in the long run.
