If my car does end up getting totaled, i may be looking to purchase an 89 SHO. black of course wink
now, i know the gen 1's and the gen 2's are essentially the same car, and that the gen 2 doors fit on the gen 1's. my question is will the complete 92 interior fit in the 89? i mean the dashboard, steering wheel, front and rear seats, rear speaker panels, carpet, door panels, everything. does anyone know if it will fit? i dont think i could stand staring at an 89 interior after having my 92 :)
i obviously would have a complete interior to donate, so parts arent a problem.

i may be wrong, but i think everything but the dash will fit. if you do the dash, it will bolt in, but be too much work to get all the wireing to work together, i just put the interier out of a 90 in my 89 and that was the trouble i had. i beleive the 90/91 interier is more like the gen2 interier

Also there is no airbag in the '89 so it wont actually work unless you put all the other stuff in for it.

i dont plan on actually bringing the airbags over too. that would be a little too much work. but the 90-91 interior isnt quite the same as the 92-95's. gen 2's are better ;-)

I think everything will fit but you will have to move the inside door handels and drill new holes for mounting the door panels. Also the rear package tray on the 89-91 has a glove box and a big dip in the metal tray so the 92 package tray trim might not fit, the rear speaker brackets might be too tall also. The console on the 89 has a vertical section below the radio instead of the roll-top box but the roll-top secton should fit the 89 console if you wanted to put it in.
