My auto shop says SHO starter is same as regular Taurus 3.0L true? Sorry to use wide post? And not search thread. Need car tomorrow.

Imnotsureyet but yes they look the same to me, however it's been a long time since I've worked in the feil and having some troubles my self with the clutch and Trang and looking for in put

you need a Gen 1 starter (without the solenoid)

I had lots of trouble with my 1989 3.0L starter. Went thru many of them. The last was from NAPA. It failed too but was warrantied so (eventually) the replacement was free. Has held up well since then.

I have a local guy who hand-rebuilds alternators and starters, as many new parts as possible.
Only had one alternator fail in 20 years on any of my cars.
