636 code... wtf?

So I was driving my SHO last night and my CE light came on.

I got codes 172, 636, and 511 (due to my LPM)

I have had the 172 for a while, I need to replace my O2s.

The 636 is a new one... thansmission oil temperature sensor out of range. How would I go about addressing this code?

sounds like you need to test out the pin on the transmission to make sure the resistance is within specs. I believe there is a thread on the old Taurus Car Club archives about how to test out the various transmission sensors and what thier resistanc in ohms is. There is a connector on top of your tranny and you'd need a multimeter to test it. Also you may want to just clear the codes and see if it happens again. I remember using the thread on the TCCA to troubleshoot my 95 SE which shares the same AX4S tranny as most SHO's

Thanks for the reply. I did a search and when I rean my codes my car wasn't up to temp, and it was below 40 degrees out here in MN. I cleared the codes anyway so I guess I'll see if it was because it wasn't heated up, or if there really is a problem.
