Did my 60K on my 94ATX Sunday. It went well although learning where to put the tappet holder is almost an art. Thanks Scott for your great worksheet, Mark for your video(which I watched about 2 dozen times-no joke), as well as Josh with SHONUT and Torrie with FPN-great service from both for the parts. Only 4 were out of spec(all exhaust) and the shims looked great. The valve train was clean too. I bought the car with 83,000 on 3/01 and now have 95,000. I just assumed the valve adjustment had never been done which is why I did it at 95,000.A little oil in wells 2,3, and 5 but very little at that. Now I need to rest up for the timing belt.

I just completed my 141K (first) and I as well only had 4 exhaust out of spec. by +.oo1. So either the seating of the valves cancles out the wear intially or they really don't wear that much. Also ford may have been conservative as well as money hugury thinking they could get owners to bring the car in for no real reason. Also as the motor evolved and ford realized it wasn't required the valve shim went from every 60k to 100K (look in your owners service guide). But by almeans preventative maintance can increase you cars life.
