I just got an email from Fast Parts Network stating that there's a discount on SCT tuners for the EcoSHO.

From the email:

"Starting now through the month of September we are offering a $50 off coupon for all EcoBoost SCT X3 Custom Programmers.

Use coupon code boost"

So there you have it. Now you can get a tuner cheaper, if you're not worried about it leaving traces, etc.

At least you don't have to worry about blowing cylinder #8!

End cost for Torrie's ECM & TCM Tunes is now $450. plus a small shipping cost thru Sept 30. His Boosted Tune is good for 60 HP, and was the tune I got my 13.5 in my Brick last Oct. This is about a second off the stock Flex EB times.

Of course, you can also get his 3 Bar sensor & W/M package plus further tuning help when you do. For advance tuning with the latter options, you start with mild revisions, log the results with your SCT LiveLink software, send them to Torrie, and he sends you a slightly more aggressive tune. Where you end up depends on many factors, including Fuel Rail Pressure, Lambda, Manifold Charge Temp, Engine Temp and numerous other variables. It's like getting a Dyno tune, without a dyno.

I am running a tune from Torrie right now. I don't know what Stage I would call it, but it is a nice bump in power / torque with some transmission adjustments. Works very very well.

Knock on wood.... but I have had none of the quirks that many of you have felt with both EB engine and tranny. I attribute this to the SCT Tuner and aftermarket tuning. But the best part is the "WHEE" factor as well as "Stealth" Power!

Currently working with Torrie and a SCT 3400 tuner module on my 09' G8 GT.
Nice thing about EB engine vs G8, is that it comes with the wide-band built in, whereas I had to add a bung to Kooks Header for the Innovate Wide Band. Nice to have that A/F gauge to look at though!

About to run a modified version of Torrie's +60whp boost tune starting today. This is his boosted tune, now with some torque management put back on the 1 - 2 shift at WOT. All else remains the same. He mod'd this tune for me as I have been talking to him about me nearly constantly experiencing wheel hop with both his tunes and Livernois tunes.

I haven't had those issues, but that may be due to my tires/wheels & H & R's.

Ben... you need to get the 4+ Livernois and compare.

Know what you mean by wheel hop with my G8 GT. Difference between wheel hop & no wheel hop at Cordova Dragway was .4 sec in the 60'.

I've got the Livernois Stage 4 (not +), ran it for it a bit, but not long enough to compare. That was actually the last tune I was running until I went back to stock several weeks ago. I went back to stock when I heard that NESHO's SHO blew it's tranny, got scared by that plus running 93 in a 94 tune plus my wheel hop. Just getting the nerve back now, so starting off with Torrie's modified BOOST tune. We'll see where I go from there.
