1. What causes spun rod bearings/ for what reason would a motor "throw a rod"?
2. "clutch buzz"... is this a "ticking" sound hearable at low rpms in gear, and at idle. It increases as throttle is increased. Has nothing to do with engaging the clutch pedal?
3. My exhaust is now UNRESTRICTED thumbs_u . It sounds alot raspier. Is this normal with a catless sho/ economy mufflers? They also replaced my resonator? (straight pipe from the Y to the gas tank) with a "regular 2.25 in. pipe.

Well normal wear and tear is the reason bearings go out and it seems to be main bearings as often as rod bearings on this car. Poor oil change intervals or crappy oil will only accelerate the problem. Throwing a rod is a different thing. Thats when a rod actually detaches itself from the piston or the crank and takes out whatever is in it's path. Bad times. :( Spinning a bearing is when the actual bearing has enough play to spin in between the crank and the rod.

3. Raspiness. Remember its a Japanese engine and if it was cut in half to 3 cylinders, it would probably sound like a Civic.... eek!
Many people swear to hi flow glass packs in the middle to take the rasp away. Opening up exhaust system totally like you describe, will most probably hurt perfermance. Engine is designed for a certain back pressure. Reprogramming PCU with an LPM can take care of this.
