So guys, pretty sure I'm worrying about nothing, but I want to ask your thoughts anyway -

I found a 3-BAR at a certain website for $47 dollars. It is Motorcraft part # CX-2231. I know that this part has been replaced (upgraded?) to Motorcraft part # CX-2594 recently, and that 2594 sensors sell for $100 or more.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity, and it looks like I bought the last 2231 they had in stock. So my ???'s are -

Are they really the EXACT same part?
Any changes between the 2231 and the 2594?
Can I rest easy knowing I found the last of the old, but still same, and cheaper sensor?

I think (I'll know when I get home) that I ordered a CX-2231 off of eBay, and got the updated part - it's a "-C" (says Made in China) part which is the same as the "-B" part (2231) (which says Made in Germany).

After some research, I found it's the correct part. Will let you know when I get home.

ok, here's a pic that shows what I have, and I've been told it's good to use. There is a -AB part (made in Germany, now since long gone), a -AC part (made in China, like the one I have) and I hear there's now a -AD part.

Thank you, sir. I'll try to post my pics tomorrow once it arrives.

Hopefully they are exactly the same, and I just have a case of the "if it sounds to good to be true ...." heebie jeebies. I've never been the person that finds the million dollar painting at a garage sale, so I just couldn't believe it when I stumbled across this part for $47. I had stopped by the local dealer, and even with a discount I receive, the 2594 sensor would have cost $156. So mainly trying to figure out if a change in FoMoCo's part number coupled with the huge price increase means something significant has been changed within the part itself.

Check out the other 3bar MAP that's already in your car - it's on/near the throttle body. Check the #'s.

I guess this is my million dollar painting then. LOL

Thanks for all your input, krewat. I'm getting all the parts in place to get my SHO turned into a monster. Time to work on getting the tune now....

Me three!
Just installed my three bar I’ve had for almost two years. This thread got me looking, mine is a CX-2231-B that says made in Philippine Republic. Torrie hooked me up with a 93p tune with like a four hour turnaround after sending my vehicle data. So far, pretty great!
