3.2 vs 3.0 difference before purchase

If the engine is pulled already and is matted to a 5 speed but looks just like my 3.2 atx what should I look for so I know for sure. It has a single belt like my 3.2

The single belt is a good clue to it being a 3.2. You could convert a 3.0 to single belt but that's extra work. Hard to tell if they used the 3.0 heads and oil pan. If the 3.2 heads are still on it then maybe the coil pack and it's mounting bracket look like they are more at an angle than the 3.0??

Thanks man. Ill have to look. I was going to look at it today but our kids car took a Crap and I totally forgot.

also, look behind the alternator - the 3.0 front head needs modified to allow clearance to mount the 3.2 alternator, so if someone has been on that head with a sawzall, then you know it is a 3.0 head.

and, the oil pans are different. the oil level sensor is on the rear of the pan on the 3.0, and on the front of the pan on the 3.2.
