O.k. Im back again. I just fixed everything last month. I ran the codes and I got nothing so I thought I was home free. A week later my Tranny starts this shifting from 1st to 2nd then back to 1st and hard 2nd. I run the codes and it brings up this

122 - Throttle Position Sensor
327 - EGR Valve Position Sensor below min voltage
332 - Insufficient EGR flow
628 - Excessive Converter Clutch Slippage or lockup solenoid failure?

I'm not a car guy so I'm gonna need help on this one. WHAT HAPPENED!!!

Could the EGR Valve be affecting the Converter clutch? Or is it the TPS?

HELP

Heh- My car is doing the exact same thing. It is a 93 auto as well. I am looking for a D4u1 computer. I was told that it might solve the problem. I will keep looking to see if someone else knows what the problem is. Just know that you are not alone-M

My "check engine light" came on this past Sunday, i got the code 332 from the self test. I plan on peeking into the throttle body/Intake to see if the EGR nostrils are clogged up. Gonna do that over this Thanksgiving break. I'll post up what happens and some pics too :)

I was just wondering :) I'm really frustrated because i just had a 9 month long fight with my car only to find out that I had a bad IAB sensor which is what i thought it was in the first place but I couldn't get it off. Then I have an awsome running car that didn't have any problems for less than a week and now I have this!!!!

Could it be linked to me trying to clean out the coke that was causing the 332 to come up?

I came across another thread that said his secondaries are stuck open. I have a problem with the connector in the back of the intake that controlls the secondaries. It has no clip so it kept comming off - so I taped the connector together. Consequently that's just about the same time I started having the shifting problems. So I did a test I unplugged the connector, took my car for a drive and VOILA the car shifted perfectly.

SOMONE TELL ME WHY THIS WOULD BE???? Is the cable connected to a sensor? Where's the sensor located?

Secondary runner operation should not effect shifting in the manner you've described. Are you sure that you unplugged the plug for the secondary runner control box (which is slightly larger than a matchbox in size and is silver in color)?

Similarly, a malfunctioning EGR system will not have any effect on converter operation. Given the codes you presented at the beginning of this thread, I would be inclined to think that your EGR valve position sensor (the mushroom-shaped sensor on the drivers-side rear of the intake) is either on it's way out or already dead. It is also possible that you have a significant amounts of carbon build-up in the EGR "nostrils" on the back of the intake where the exhaust gas is recycled back into the system.

Have you tried clearing your codes and then driving around to see which ones pop back up?

I think I answered your question in a previous post. I just fixed a recent problem with the IAB cleared the codes and drove for a day then ran the codes and got nothing. The car ran perfect no shifting problems NOTHING. A week later it starts the shifting problem. I run the codes and it gives me what I originally posted. Yes I do know that I have a problem with the nostrils ( I just replaced the EGR valve 6 months ago to figure that one out). Problem is I cant seem to locate them. I found the machine screws but I'm not quite sure what or where the nostrils are.

I need some help!!!! I found a connection (grey connector next to the black cylindrical thing that has vaccum hoses connected to it) It was disconnected for I dont know how long and I plugged it back in and held it together with tape ( I found this out when I replaced my IAB valve three weeks ago - just about the same time my car started shifting wierd).

My question is what does this connector go to? It opens and closes something on the intake when I connect and disconnect it (the thing it opens is at two places in front and in back in the center of the intake).

Also why would this affect my transmission? I completely disconnected it as it had been since I've owned the car I'm guessing and the car shifts perfectly fine. Why would that be?

ANY HELP PLEASE!!
