Hey. I thought the performance package definitely always has massaging seats. Is this not true lol?

I also have a 2013 PP with like everything besides a sunroof. So I’m confused lol… I’m looking at a 2018 PP but does anyone know the specific differences? Like for example, I don’t see climate on the cluster and there’s a blacked out button that doesn’t have anything…. Explanations? IMG 3693

The blacked out button is for the parallel park assist.

Right. Which my 2013 has. So I guess there’s no more best if both worlds with the SHO then lol… and is climate control no longer a thing using the steering wheel?

Available options varied after 2013 as supplies dwindled. I think the only definite spec was NO adaptive cruise combined with Performance Package.

I was able to download a PDF of the window sticker for my 2013 PP after I bought it a couple years ago, the Multi Contour seats are listed as an option outside of the PP.

I have a '14 with PP and a sun roof, the button next to the traction control operates the rear sun shade, which I have never used. It has heated and cooled seats but no massage.
I have buttons there for the automatic park assist, the traction control, and the sunshade.

The sunshade stays up all the time because I like it that way. But also because the motor is broken and it won't go down lol. When I bought the car it was zip tied down and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go up until I took a closer look at it. But I forgot to test it when I bought the car and I was halfway back to Tennessee from Houston where I bought the car so oh well. I don't care enough to fix it but I don't mind it.

The massaging seats I have used maybe 10 times in 2 years. To me they are really just a gimmick, it's just a really slow kind of rolling massage, but I turn it on every now and then. You can only use the bottom or the back, you can't do both at the same time. The cooled seat has ruined me. I don't even like to be in a car anymore without one. I daily drive a 13 Focus and I bought a heated/cooled/massaging seat cover from Amazon to put in it. Which is awesome btw that thing does a way better job of massaging than the seats in the SHO. Best $90 I've spent in a while.

The buttons on my 2015 are Park assist, Lane Keep Assist, and the Sunshade. I have to go into the left menu on the IPC to adjust Traction Control.

My 2015 also has the massaging seats. There is a On/Off button on the side of the seat that is more of a Resume/Off button. If I go into the options on the touchscreen, I can choose off, low, medium or high and seat or back. I can use both seat and back at once or independently. I can also choose the speed/force independently. Basically 16 different possible combinations. I do agree though that even with both of them on high, I can barely notice them. I do turn them on every time I get in the car though. I travel an hour plus each direction to work and feel like it prevents me from getting sore. Kind of like those medical beds that prevent bed sores by moving a little bit to change pressure points.

That is super cool. I wish mine were like that, if they were I'd probably use them more often.

Here is a snip from the manual about the controls for the '13's, I guess the '15+ got an upgrade lol. Or is it different on PP vs. non PP?

I'm going to guess 1 of 2 things may play a part in this, or both. I have done the Sync 3 conversion so, it may be a 2016+ option. I have also updated to version 3.4 with CyanLabs. So it may be an even newer Sync 3 option.

Oh yeah I bet you're right about the Sync 3 upgrade. That is definitely on my list.

Is SYNC 3 only available for 2016+? And I assume the upgrade is free at the dealer? I was told only 2017+ only have Apple CarPlay and sync 3? Or can you have sync 3 without Apple CarPlay?

2016+ I believe. But no if you don’t have it you have to replace the screen, the APIM module, wiring harness, usb ports, then do some stuff in Forscan to dial it in. There are some write-ups about it. The best way as I understand it is to source junkyard parts.
