Ah yeah i just looked it up again, the MKZ is getting a 3.0lTT.

If i were to get a new car it would be that. But i think i will wait another year to two and get the new raptor

Cool. I'm not even a truck guy at all, but I'd rock a Raptor if I needed a truck.

I don't know, but I don't think it's the same motor.
3.0l and 2.7l are the same family and there is another displacement coming for this group. They will be built at Lima Engine Plant in Ohio. The folks here are salivating at the thought of the 400hp MKZ. We'll all know soon enough what the performance is, but I'm betting 12's right out of the box. Livernois will have a field day!

Here are some photos of the 17 Fusion Sport from the DFW Auto show last week. Pre Production so now price tag and locked up tighter than Fort Knox. Make note of some decent features include SYNC Gen3 Inflatable seatbelts at least rear not sure about front. It is on my smart phone but I also got a photo of the VIN plate to verify it was a 2017.........2015 was year code FG 2016 was GG and 2017 is H. The letter after H is plant ID. Example 2015 FG.....F 2015 G Chicago plant 2016 is GG.

Recently announced: The 17 MKZ will be available with 2.0T (245 hp), 2.7 Twin Turbo (330 hp), and 3.0 Twin Turbo (~400 hp)

Lincoln is going to stop using the "EcoBoost" name and just call them "turbo" for some reason that probably relates to what Audi, BMW, etc. call their turbo engines.

The MKZ / Fusion platform is a lot sportier handling/riding than the MKS/Taurus platform, so I expect these cars to be a real kick to drive. We can order 17 MKZ now, and expect them in 2-3 months. The 3.0 engine is "late availability".

Is the new fusion going to be using the same PTU as the SHO? I hope they have it cooled standard or as an option (aka the PP)

I personally think Ford's decision to only put the 3.0TT into the Lincoln is to try to complete with the much more powerful Cadillac ATS-V with it's TT motor. If GM picks up on using their TT motor in other GM cars they're going to be stepping all over anything Ford offers.

Just my thoughts.

PS - Saw an ATS-V at the auto show (actually liked it) and for $60k I'd just pony up another $20 to step into the CTS-V.

Yeah, they might decide to make 25 "Limited Edition" TTs available in other model lines ;) and charge $25,000 extra for the pleasure.

True dat! LOL!

I'm sure that tuners will get their hands on some ATS-V's and push that TT motor close to the GT40's 600 mark. It shouldn't take much work since it makes like 450 already.

Ford is definitely letting the performance market pass on by, and the SHO and Fusion Sport models aren't cutting it. It's like Ford has a whole chocolate pie to sell, but is willing to sell us 50% of what they're can make. The models by Cadillac are not being matched by anyone other than BMW and Mercedes, even Audi isn't really trying to match Cadillac head-in in terms of power, but generally speaking, Cadillac has sort of created and is catering to new market.

Nope, not the same as the sho/explorer ptu. The fusion/focus rs platforms us a smaller ptu. But all of fords awd performance vehicles use (even the 3.0t Lincolns) have a full set of coolers, ptu, engine oil, and 2 transmission coolers.

So far I'm the only current SHO owner ('13) that having researched the Fusion Sport seems to prefer hanging on to our '13 SHO. There is something "beastly" about these cars and while the Fusion Sport has some nice lines I just do not think it is going to be in the same class as the SHO overall. I have owned a few Fusions from the first year thru the model prior to the current one and also to include a Sport (which of course had the base V-6) and I would imagine the price on the Fusion Sport will be in the high $30K range, perhaps even just over $40K loaded up. I'm an older guy and retired and having driven a new '16 Fusion, there is a huge difference in comfort, ride, handling and noise between the SHO and Fusion. No more miles than I log annually I am going to hold on to our '13 and when the CPO warranty expires in August of '19 I will look for a low mileage one owner '16 SHO. I just love this car, but of course to each their own.
