2016 Shadow Black

Has anyone seen the new shadow black color. I was very up close with on and there appears to have some blue metallic in the paint you have to be close like you did on the Tux black. But it's there. Just wondering if anyone else had seen it.

What I've seen, it was straight black with no metallic hue of any kind?

I looked again in the sun today. Strange cause I can see blue sparkles. I even asked a stranger to look to make sure I wasnt losing my mind.

i have a 16 shadow black. not very impressed with the paint. I love the look of the car in black though.

my 14 MKZ had tuxedo black and It looked much much better IMHO.

the shadow black is dirty literally the second it comes out of the wash.

and its just black (mine is at least)... no colors or sparkles... just black.

the 16 Black Velvet on the Lincoln vehicles is just black, no metallic or silica flakes at all. I expect the Ford black is identical but have not personally confirmed this.

for 17, there is a new black that is black metallic but not like Tuxedo Black which had the silica flakes. the new black is "regular" black metallic paint. as I understand it, the silica flakes came from a place in Japan that was affected by the tsunami a few years back, and the supply has gotten unpredictable. who knows if that is true or just an urban legend...

The supply of those "flakes" (Xirallic, if you are referring to what they used for the Kona Blue paint back in 2010/11) has been restarted for some time (I think in latter 2011 in Japan), and with redundant capacity in a German plant established after the event.

I agree wth the look of the car in black. It looks much more aggressive and appears smaller.
