Hello all! Found this one here in Colorado Springs. This dealership has sent me a form letter saying they'll give me premium trade-in on my 2011 Edge Sport (the one with the Mustang V-6 and the 22" wheels), and they've got this one in their inventory.

Looks like it's got the PP, and somebody painted the calipers and the engine cover...tastefully done. The mileage isn't too bad (15k and change).

I'm hoping to solicit some opinions from the folks here...

The only thing that's throwing me off is the steering wheel. So far as I can remember, the PP had an alcantara-wrapped wheel. If you can walk out the door without spending much more than they're asking after tax and license, including trade-in, then go for it. If you pay anything more than that, you're getting ripped off and might as well wait on a 2014. My new 2013 started at $40k before tax and license.

Looks to be in decent condition. I am not sure that it is 37k worth of nice. The painting of the caliper and engine cover appear to be nice and tastefully done. I would try talking them down and by the time you add back in title/tags and dealer fees you are close to their asking price preferably lower. If you can't swing a deal then holdout for the 2014 models which should be starting to hit the dealers lots.

Orguss is right in the assumption that the car doesn't have the PP. The thing to look for is to check for the suede wrap on the steering wheel. Looking at the pictures it doesn't have that, and is just standard leather. Also, looking up the window sticker online using the VIN shows it doesn't have it either. :frown:

I will say the calipers and cover doesn't look too bad, but don't know if I'd choose it on my own car.

And I'll add I did pay less for mine, with 2/3 the miles, but not quite the same options as that one has. So I'd say the same, either hold out for at 2014, or try and get the price down some due to the added costs that get thrown in.

(Edit: For cost, I thought I'd add mine was certified per-owned as well, just like this listing)

Good luck :)

I say no PP.... the aux cooler cant be seen thru the lower front grill + the steering wheel is not alcantara.

Here is another helpful link for decoding the VIN Remember in 2010 the US went back to the alphabetical model year system A2010 B2011 C 2012 D2013 etc,,,

Enter the VIN and it will show model, plant, engine etc....

http://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/vin-decoder/

P2X is the Taurus Line.....X = SE/SEL/LIMITED/SHO/AWD/FWD/POLICE...etc...

Do you know what work has been done on this SHO? TSBs etc.? Can you get an OASIS report from them? Were they the servicing dealer?

I just bought my brand new 2013 SHO with PP and fully loaded for 38k last Wednesday.
This isn't a great deal.

All excellent questions...and I don't have any answers. I can say that I tried looking at CarFax; I couldn't get all the way in because they wanted $40 for the one entry, but they did say that there were 10 reports associated with the VIN...not sure what to make of that. On the one hand, it could just be service entries (oil changes, routine maintenance, even warranty work).

On the other hand though...does make me wonder just who owned it last, if you know what I'm saying...:scared:

NEGATIVE ON THE PERFORMANCE PACKAGE....

Reprint of Window Sticker.....courtesy of researchmainiacs.com

http://www.researchmaniacs.com/VIN-Number-Lookup/WindowSticker/Ford.html

Open the link in a new windpw...... Copy/paste the VIN

VIN #: 1FAHP2KT6DG169430

Should come up and reprint the original window sticker

This PDF below may work but if not follow the instructions above

Thank you! I tried this...I guessed that it had the adapt. cruise on it (in one of the pictures, you can see the sensors in the front bumper). It looks like it got the tires from the PP, but nothing else.

Still interesting...I'm gonna try to jaw 'em down a bit. They're willing to offer $27,780 in trade value for my Edge (which is decently loaded and only has 25k miles on it), but I owe just over 31k...and I'm financed through Ford Motor Credit. If they don't want to come my way, I'll just keep the Edge. Aside from some door dings, it's in great shape and has proven itself through a couple of Colorado winters by now. (But I'm not looking forward to replacing the stock Pirelli PZero tires...22X10 rims, yikes!)

Going in on Saturday...willl let y'all know!

FMC credit is pretty good. I had two out of my three ford vehicles with them. I think they can come up on your Edge or down on their price. If quickevo was correct and a NEW SHO with PP at 38K I would consider that. There are pretty good rebates on 2013's even SHO models. If you want the low mileage 2013 C.P.O then they can come down if they dont then walk and find a dealer that can.

Missing massage seats and not a PP. Cross it off the list. You can get a leftover 2013 for that money.

For those of you following along at home........That research maniacs link I would copy and bookmark for your favorites in case you see one on a dealers website. Also the VIN decoder to make sure they aren't trying to sell a SEL as a Limited etc... to get more money.....Rare but I am sure their are still dealers that will try.

Thought I'd post a follow-up...

Went in today, and got sidetracked from the start...turns out the flyer was actually for the Lincoln dealer right next door, not the Ford dealer. Test drove a CPO MKS (Taurus in Lincoln bodywork); it had 42k miles and was a 2011. It had been the dealer loaner car. Also tried a brand-new MKZ with the 3.7 V-6 (Same as my Edge). Not a bad alternative to the SHO performance-wise---had the AWD and a bunch of other techno-goodies...but then the techno-goodies turned on us. The haptic-touch system went nuts and the radio turned itself on---then the volume control lost its !@#! mind and started running from mute to full volume and back again.

I was just giggling and the salesman was staring at his shoes. My 6-yr old daughter was in the backseat and had her hands clamped over her ears. "Daddy, this car scares me..." "Okay honey..." I got the stereo turned off, but we could still hear the "poit...poit...poit..." of the haptic controls like they were being pushed, and the LED light bar for the volume control looked the old scanner lights from KITT in "Knight Rider".

This is what happens when you hitch your wagon to Microsoft...eccch.

Daughter's fine. Dealer's embarrassed. I'm still thinking about an MKZ. Expensive little bugger...considering that it's a Fusion with a pseudo-Aston Martin body on it. (Well, at least the taillights look like it...which is also funny, because the Fusion's front end also looks like an Aston. Guess Ford couldn't make up its mind...)

Oh, and the SHO? It was sitting in the Ford dealer's showroom, so I couldn't drive it. But they had it marked down further, to just over 36-9, so it's still a possibility. We'll see. Gonna take CINCHOUSE down there next week and see what she thinks.
