I have a 2013, and my brakes had 50,000 miles when that same exact thing started happening to me...
its very irritating! I bought a set of front brake pads and rotors from autoanything.com
I went with powerstop's Z32 front kit. It's not the most aggressive performance but for the money it's much better than stock and I'm yet to hear that annoying roar even with hard stops from the 100+ region!

Please report back on the performance and lifecycle of your drilled and slotted rotors.

I've put almost 10,000 miles on these since March and I can't say anything bad about them. They still look great and perform the way they did when new!
I have not had the car on a road course... But a few 1/8 mile tracks as well as plenty of "Mexico " races.

I still say for the money this is a great option!!!!
