2011 Tail light question.

I've searched around on the internet and have not found a answer to this, I have a 2011 SHO non PP. The only the body side of the tail lights light up (red) the trunk mount don't, the only light I see is the backup lights. is this how they are that year? or do I need to replace some bulbs.

That's how they came on the '10-'12 model years.

I just noticed this today when investigating why my passenger side brake lights do not work. So the red lens on the trunk never lights up for 2010-2012? That seems so silly; I could have sworn it lit up. Anyway, after replacing both larger brake lights, the passenger side tail lights work when my headlights are on, but the brake lights do not. Any ideas? This does not seem like a fuse issue.

What did you replace? The tail lamp assemblies or the bulbs.

Btw the tail lamp connectors are the same left and right. They can be swapped for testing purposes. No they cannot be installed opposite.

I replaced the bulbs. So while I was getting ready to swap out the connectors, I noticed the bulb wasn't pushed in all the way. Whoops! So I seated it correctly and now I have brake lights! Also it helps to check the lights when you are not outside on a sunny day.

You know I had something of the same issue, I had a intermittent failure of the passenger side brake light, since I had it off I went ahead and replace the bulbs but sprayed it with cleaner and used electrical grease, so far I think its fixed.
