Hello all.
I have a 2011 mks ecoboost. I have recently enjoyed the wonderful world of stretched timing chains.
After engine removal and tear down, I realized the chain jumped four teeth....ugh. This likely happened while the engine was cranking.

So the story goes, I got in the car the battery was very weak, the car was turning out slowly, yet it started. the idle was rough and the check engine light was on, which was abnormal. I let the car run like that for a few minutes and then shut it off. I tried to start it again and the battery was completely flat. I went to the auto parts store, I got a battery and the car never started again.

Long story short, I have bent valves and god knows what else.

I am considering purchasing a used 2013 engine out of a SHO. HOWEVER, Google AND my interchange manual says that the engines are only the same from 2010-2012, then 2013 onwards. I cannot find a reason for this. Im worried about crankshaft reluctor teeth count or any other MAJOR differences... does anyone have any idea whether this engine will work in my car?

Thank you

There are some parts that you have to move from the old to new engine, but it has been done. Search for a thread that details how it was done.

I must be using the wrong search terms. I did search before and after I posted. Knowing it has been done before puts my mind at ease.
Thanks for that. If anyone has that thread bookmarked, please let me know, I would love to read it.
Thanks again.

Please document, because there are BOUND to be a few details different between the MKS and the SHO. Minor most likely, but something to note/overcome. The manual assures you it will all be ok, but you know, they do love to throw in a few undocumented stumbling blocks now & then. LOL!
