Hello all.
I have a 2011 mks ecoboost. I have recently enjoyed the wonderful world of stretched timing chains.
After engine removal and tear down, I realized the chain jumped four teeth....ugh. This likely happened while the engine was cranking.
So the story goes, I got in the car the battery was very weak, the car was turning out slowly, yet it started. the idle was rough and the check engine light was on, which was abnormal. I let the car run like that for a few minutes and then shut it off. I tried to start it again and the battery was completely flat. I went to the auto parts store, I got a battery and the car never started again.
Long story short, I have bent valves and god knows what else.
I am considering purchasing a used 2013 engine out of a SHO. HOWEVER, Google AND my interchange manual says that the engines are only the same from 2010-2012, then 2013 onwards. I cannot find a reason for this. Im worried about crankshaft reluctor teeth count or any other MAJOR differences... does anyone have any idea whether this engine will work in my car?
Thank you
