Does anyone know what the bolt pattern, offset and center bore specs are? No one at Ford seems to be able to find them. I want to get a set of 18" wheels for the winter. The 225/60R18 LM-25 Blizzaks have the exact same revs/mile as the 245/45R20 Michelin Primacy MXV4s. The reviews look really good for them.

They are 5x114.3mm or 5x4.5", which is the same as the Mustang and Crown Vic. I believe the offset is around +35mm, but would have to double check. Someone, I believe Beefcake, posted this info somewhere else already, if you can find it. You can also fit as small as 17"ers on it FYI.

correction: The offset is +39mm, see here: http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=103000

Please post if you do this and get it to work. I would like to do the exact same thing.

Thanks typhoon. Lotus, I'm going to pull a wheel off and measure the center bore to make sure what I order fits and I'll post my findings. I found some decent wheels for $117 and there's more for $148 at Wheels Next. Here's the link:

I just picked up my Tuxedo Black SHO a few hours ago. The moon was in the seventh house and Jupiter aligned with Mars... I got exactly what I would have ordered, X plan, 0% financing and $1000 rebate. I hope they got classes on how to use all that crap in there, I hate reading manuals.

Thanks SHODWN. I'm going to have to pull a wheel off and verify the center bore. The wheels I'm looking at are 18 x 7.5, 5 x 114, 42 offset and a 73 center bore.

I just measured the center bore on the spare, it's 63mm. The wheels I want to get are 74. IMHO, a snug fit on the center takes some load off the lugs. What do you guys think? No biggie?

Thanks Chris. I ordered the wheels from Wheels Next. Turns out I had to get the install kit and it comes with hubcentric rings. Turned out to be a non-issue.

I'm surprised it had a spare. I thought all new SHO's came with the tire mobility kit and no spare?

I would def get/use the hubcentric rings too. The lugs aren't designed to take the full load of the wheels and I've heard horror stories of studs shearing off because of it. You can also get a vibration like the wheel is out of balance from it because of stud flex as you go down the road. You wouldn't want to total a $40k car over $5 worth of centering rings.

if you've ever tightened a wheel with an air gun that uses conical lugnuts you will notice the lugnuts hold down the wheel. tighten one down and the whole wheel positions itself to fit that lugnut, no matter what the hub is doing.... in the end the lugnuts are what secures, and positions the wheel on a setup like the original SHO's, and most fords..... dunno how the new SHO is, but I would imagine nothing has changed.....

typhoon, I called Wheels Next about the hubcentric rings and turns out they're included in the install kit. I also spoke with Trade Union, who makes the wheels I'm buying. He said all aftermarket wheels will have a larger center bore. No one makes an exact fit. BTW, The Tire Rack has a great deal on the Blizzak LM-25s. I've been dealing with them for almost 20 years and always had a good experience. This time, they held up my order until they spoke to me, I ordered 18" tires and they wanted to make sure I didn't make a mistake. I was impressed. My tires came the next day too when it was supposed to be 3 days.

I got the tires mounted today. Just to reiterate, I got Primax 685 wheels, 18 x 7.5 and Bridgestone Blizzak 225/60R18s. The tire and wheel weighs 48.5#. Forgot to weigh just the wheel though.

:ttiwwp:

That's not that bad of a weight for an 18" wheel and tire though, considering most tires are pushing 30lbs.

Sorry, but just got them mounted and not on yet. They didn't send the hubcentric rings and I'm waiting for them to come. Besides, the invoice had the wrong size rings anyways. Got some chooches working there.

It's not centering the wheel that I'm concerned with, it's getting the wheel to fit tight on the hub. It'll take some of the load off the lugs.

I have some here, not sure if they are the right size or not, but if you can tell me what you need and I have them I can get them out asap for you.
