Can anyone recommend a good replacement brand?
Are any of the ones on rock auto decent or should I avoid them?

Sometimes they slip a 9 1/4 unit into the listings and they are to be avoided, you clutch disc is 9 3/4".

Years ago, I bought a "Rhinopack" clutch kit, which was not a premium offering, and it has not been a moments trouble.
Usually high performance kits with more clamping force means shorter life, and the standard clutches are more than adequate.

The O'Reillys brand clutch (performance friction) is the Sachs clutch in their box. Same exact part number as what's listed on Rockauto. You get a better warranty thru O'Reillys. That's what I use in all my SHOs.

I bought a Valeo this time. Last clutch was an O'Reilly brand. It chattered and came apart in less than 10k miles. I had a Valeo installed in my 89 also; no issues so far.
