Not difficult at all, just have a large enough container to catch spilled coolant (2 qts or more in size), and be ready to burp the coolant. Check out the free Chilton's manual via this link. There is supposedly a spill-free funnel you can use for this process, but I have not seen reports on its' effectiveness.

I just did mine and more fluid came out than I expected. The OEM t-stat was also really stuck in there. I actually had to grab onto it so hard with pliers I probably will just toss it (bent it a little).
