Hey guys, just got my first SHO last week and I'm looking into suspension upgrades for lowering it. I've found a lot of info on the H&R Springs and don't see any downside to them aside from the issues with the rear camber bolt but I haven't found much information or reviews on the Megan Coil Overs. Could anyone please provide any insight into this? Thanks!

I cant comment on the coil overs but the H&Rs are a nice upgrade. I still have a little low speed groaning through parking lots but it's not bad. Chicago area roads aren't horrible either. Huge handling improvement for me. I had mine installed at a shop for 300 which included an alignment.

For some reason I thought it would cost a lot more to have them installed, I wonder if that is average, because that seems more then reasonable to me. If I knew I could get it done for $300 I would order mine today.

that is not average. for some reason every time I read a story like this online about automotive work/repair being done....whenever I get a quote it's at least twice the price. so plan on $600. **** my local shop want 110 just for a damn alignment

- I agree, there is no way I could find a shop around here to do it for $300, in fact I would bet it would be close to $600 before they did an alignment. Which is why I have not got around to doing the springs yet, and more then likely you will have to here how you really shouldn't replace the stock shocks, etc.

This is exactly what I experienced. I read that it was a $300 job. I bought he springs and then started calling around. I found a lot of shops asking well over $600 (my go-to shop wanted $900). I kept calling shops and got one who quoted me $500. I actually scheduled with them thinking it was the best price but they wanted the car for 2 days so they could do the alignment. I then called a place 5 minutes form my house and got a quote for $300. If you have enough shops in the area, call them ALL. Good luck!

Just went through this... all the shops in my area wanted at least $800 for the spring swap and alignment... I live in NoVA so prices for everything are expensive... I ordered coilovers instead because I hate swapping springs.... and I can do coilovers for the same price as springs/struts/shocks...

I'm always surprised people get the Megans which is an entry level coilover and not the BCracing ones, supposedly the same company just their namesake brand, a bit better quality and you can get the swift spring upgrade

I gave this a hard consideration. However, the price of the Megan's made it the easy choice for me personally. I am not PLANNING on any auto cross so for me it was the ability to adjust the dampening for the 60ft at the drags.
