Not too bad if there is a LSD in there, TO check just look in where the axles go and if you see diff pins there is no Quaife in there.

PLEASE tell him not to open it up to check for a Quaife!! Also if there is a Quaife in there besides NOT seeing diff pins you'll notice a spiral type groove where the axles get inserted which is a type of lubrication channel. $1200 for all the above is a great deal for all the work and parts and an absolute STEAL if there's a Quaife in there!

Yeah, like Ferendon said, its a good deal. If you took your ride to a dealer or pretty much any other place. You would have to pay roughly $950 to $1000 for just a clutch, tob, and labor. Through your hook up, you're getting a tranny with that. And most trannies nowadays have been going for about 400, so yeah, even without a quaife your gettin a deal.

I never pay more than $200 for a stock tranny. If it's got a quaife jump on it, you need it. Figure $300 for labor, $375 for a good clutch disk and PP, $100 for a ceramic TOB, flywheel resurfacing $50, that would put you at $375 for a tranny.

This must be "The New Math"... :)

Assuming:
$200 MTX
$375 clutch & PP (or more, depending on what you get or want)
~$100 ceramic TOB (I think that's on TOP of a stocker too)
~$50 Rear Main / Carrier Gasket, etc.
Shops around here charge ~$500 for a clutch on an MTX SHO, FWIW (8-10 book hours IIRC).
Redline D4, figure ~$25 there
Flywheel resurface ~$50

That's a rough $1300, so $1200 is not out of line. You can certainly get deals on labor, and also what clutch you choose, whether or not you need a ceramic TOB, and if you choose to skip the rear main, etc.

That'd bring you to about

I'm in the process of getting my tranny rebuilt right now. Ford wanted $3,000. And that's AFTER I give them the old core. So I went to a well known tranny shop in NY, and they're doing the job for $2,000 +/- 200. So you got yourself a pretty good deal. I've heard from more than one person that Ford rebuilt trannies last forever, and independent shop rebuilds last about a year. I'm taking my chances.
