Your car will arrive when Ecobrick Bob takes those crappy looking 18s off his car .

My "crappy looking wheels" are bigger than your "crappy looking wheels"!:thankyou::angelnot::laugh_ti::laugh_ti::laugh_ti::laugh_ti:

Unfortunately, to get 20's that weigh anywhere near my combo.... I would have to spend 6 grand! And I would sacrifice my adjusted 3.40 axle ratio!:dribble:

Rumor has it that SHOGUN's SHO has been shipped sans-engine and the dealer is installing a Boss 302 from Ford Performance Parts!

hahahaha, I wish,

I did actually offer to take the recently acquired BOSS (Laguna Seca) off their hands (for a couple bucks diff) a while back in place of the SHO that they were having a hard time getting me. ---

Alas, I didn't hear back. Maybe they didn't get the message.:)

It was the wrong colour anyway.

This really won't help your pain, but.......

When I first read about the 1999 Lightning pickup, I went to my local Ford dealer and placed an order and left a not insignificant deposit.

Several months went by and no truck. My 3d generation SHO lease was up and to keep from having to take the bus to my shop, I kept extending the lease. Not to start an argument, but I really did not like the V8 SHO very much and was really excited about the Lightning.

As luck would have it, or maybe fate, the back door of my business looked out across the street directly at my Ford dealership. So..........every day, I watched the car/truck carriers delivering this batch, that batch and no Lightning.

Perhaps a bit like you, I conjured up a lot of conspiracy theories.
I used to live in Canada for a couple of years...... Maybe the guys and girls at Oakville were getting back at me for returning to the US. Wasn't my fault, I was on a work permit to work for Volvo Canada and after the merger with Volvo of America (Result, Volvo North America) my job disappeared.

Finally, in May, I got my Lightning. A White one to give recognition to one of the historic alcoholic beverages of my now state of Georgia "White Lightning".

In some ways, I wish I had kept the truck. The day it was delivered, I saw it coming off the truck and burned much rubber with my SHO getting from my parking lot to the dealers lot.

Made the trade and did a massive burnout coming out of the dealer's driveway to the cheers of the techs who knew me pretty well.

Got home, had dinner and decided to take the wife for a drive. As it happened, we had a major thunderstorm that evening with lots of "White Lightning", I posted the first test drive impressions on the f150onlineforum and all agreed it was an omen.

As a single driver, I have never enjoyed a vehicle more but it was also a two passenger pickup.

Sadly, when Moby was on the end of her lease, I could see no improvement in the 2002 version and I was getting inundated with grandkids so I made a heck of a deal on an almost year old Lincoln Blackwood that could seat at least four.

Sorry to drift, I think based on my experience with my 2010, you will look at it as time perhaps well spent waiting.

Thanks for the Lightning story and the encouragement .....The Lightning and the Blackwood are both great vehicles and ones my wife would love also. She really likes trucks.

I've been spouting a lot of fire and brimstone at Ford lately but really I'm actually enjoying the anticipation and long wait:woo-hoo: (don't tell Ford -- they'll delay the damned car another 4 months:rolleyes:)

I've had more fun here than I should have spouting about this and that and picking up little gems here and there -- it's been a long wait but a fun one too. -- It got me thru winter very nicely too -- a season I detest. -- tho my "post *******" has raised a few eyebrows at times.:p

I'm quite surprised that everyone has been so patient with me .. I can only assume that they feel sorry for that lonely old canuck who just can't get a SHO delivered to save his life.....

Thanks for your patience Bill and everyone else's here -- It's been a fun ride and one I hope will last a long time.

Cheers -- and Chimo back at ya,

Colin

Heck, you know why it's taking so long--they had to figure out how to make all the displays show and voice prompts speak in French first...

But seriously, here's hoping it arrives soon.

I must have been good, getting ready to head for the Dive Center, I have to teach a "Private" Open Water Course for two rather young ladies, then will be spending a few hours in the pool with them doing water skills. Some would say that it's playing, but I think of it as very serious work:evilgrin: but better then chores at home:naughty:

You think you've been waiting for your SHO for a long time, you should check out the Mustang forums and check out the dozens of people whining about not having received their '12s for months and months and months. Some of the people live less than 100 miles away from AAI, where they are manufactured.

I sure have been waiting a while. The fact that they've been waiting even longer is worse but at least they're getting a '12 not an '11.

btw, I'm waiting on an '11 which will be a year old soon. Don't you think maybe it should have been delivered b4 now?
I think anyone waiting this long would be at least a little put out don't you.

Thanks for your understanding. :)
