Good news show, your car was delivered this past Friday to the dealer. Here is the info I have on your car. It was built 3/11 release from plant on 3/20, was on a quality hold until 4/27 and is now at dealer. It arrived on 5/6. Looks like your car should be prepped and delivered to you very soon.

Well, maybe this afternoon.

I wonder about that dealer, though, if he has had the vehicle since the sixth and it is now the 9th and he has not called Colin. I realize the car may have been delivered late on Friday and sat there over the weekend but given the long delay, I would have had someone PDI and detail the car on OT.

A new twist:
I heard from the dealer this morning and the car is in!!!!
Now they're having difficulty remembering the better incentive Ford offered in Feb. -- This incentive makes a difference of $4500 which of course I thought was attrative (to say the least).

So as it sits right now I'm waiting on a call back from the sale mgr. on the final figure.
If they straighten that crap out the car will be delivered to me on Thursday May 12 about 10am.

If you hear an explosion coming from my direction in the next little while -- you'll know why. -- They're either muddling thru their records for info on the Ford incentive that I got in on or they're trying to figure a way of weazling out of it since the trade-in will take a few month'***** and of course the SHO will be more in demand because of the delays.

P.S. WTF else could go wrong with this deal? -- God give me strenghth.
I've bought literally dozens of new cars and never, ever had these kinds of issues b4.

I have this terrible sinking feeling that the dealer may have sold the same car to two people or sold two cars of the same type and the other guy had his name in first or had a bigger deposit.

This has been known to happen with Vettes, Cobras and even the VW New Beetle when it first came out.

Yeah I can well imagine what may have happened.
Ok, if they f'd up then they can just transfer the same deal onto a '12. (with the same incentives of course)
If the can't even do that then there will be **** to pay.

I'm still waitin' on my phone call -- I'll let you guys know soon as I hear anything.

In the meantime I'm gong for a walk with my critters and gonna try not to stress over it.

-----phone call came and all is ok. They remembered the incentives and agreed on pricing and we're a go for tomorrow afternoon at 2 for delivery.

I'm afraid I'm a bit skeptical ...... I'll believe it when I see it, have the keys, and am driving home.

What's your 'SHOW ME' state -- Missouri? -- That's where I'm from.

I'm more excited then when I got my car...of course, that's because the wife said no way are you getting a SHO! So I went to the dealer thinking I was going to hear a thousand reasons from her why I didn't want the car. Ended up coming home with the car about 3 hours later. So I can't wait for Showgun's car to be in his hands! :woo-hoo::woo-hoo:

Be sure to take pictures of the car while at the dealer...so we can see not only your car, but the relieve on the sales people's face at getting your car to you!

Great idea but it's dawned on me that I need to get my car's strategy code to Rick first b4 the tunes get loaded onto the tuner.
Only way I could manage that is to have Rick email the tunes to the dealer -- and quite frankly I don't trust that to go smoothly at all. Might just be a little too bold for them.

Hey Andrew -- my other major supporter -- thanks for sticking with me thru this cluster f**k...... -- I couldn't have gotten thru it without you and Mark cheering me on.

Whatever you guys do don't stop the prayers until about 5pm tomorrow when I should have my hot little hands on my new baby and it should be sittin' in my garage at home -- waitin' for an intake and tune.:woo-hoo:

I really did have a vision when I said "Tomorrow afternoon" yesterday, meaning the day and time you indicate the car well finally be delivered.

I had the same "vision" a couple of days before my Lightning finally arrived and I went out and had the old SHO washed and vacuumed and ready to turn in even before I got the "Phone Call".

I was so pumped after the delivery that I did a full throttle burnout coming out of the dealer's lot and all the Techs were standing on the curb waving and cheering.
BTW, I ordered mine so early that I am told I got the first '99 Lightning to be delivered to Georgia so everyone else was waiting with me.

Obviously I don't have photos of that, but I do have some with the truck in my HobbyTown USA livery somewhere and will post one one of these days.

Make sure you have the afternoon off tomorrow so you can get some road time in.
In my case, my "White Lightning" was delivered in the afternoon and we had a **** of a thunder/lightning storm that evening and I was right in the middle of it. The Lightning guys on F150online got a kick out of that. A lightning in a Lightning storm, the Perfect Christening.

Actually Mark said he thought it would be in this week too. Sure enough -- it's here ..

I was going to get it Thursday but they asked me to come down tomorrow instead -- some sort of contest that expires on the 10th.

I said fine so long as there no bent parts on the car and all the pre-delivery inspection gets done properly. -- I certainly don't want a repeat of what Harder99 went thru with his delivery.
