The bulbs I used for the license plate lights are what autolumination terms "SuperStar". It looks like this:

......and that is correct, they are what autolumination refers to as a size 39mm type of bulb, what that measurement represents in general industry standard terms, I'm not sure.

Just an FYI, this is the same bulb you will need if you replace the trunk bulb with an LED. Another bit of info, the trunk light is connected to fuse 25 in the passenger compartment fuse panel...and don't ask how I discovered this! :banghd:

After scrapping ice off my driveway this morning, I did the second lamp, sealant is drying as I write this. The LED's look great...glad you posted these instructions, what a great easy mod to do, I'm really pleased with how the puddle lamps turned out.

Just finished installing the passenger side puddle lamp, the front interior LEDs, and the license plate LED's, only have the side markers to do, and it's just too darn cold to tackle them right now. All look great, BTW, the new bulbs I ordered for the interior worked out great and look great.:thankyou:

Going all LED on my 2010 SHO also. Reverse is LED, interior is all LED. Did a twist on the puddle lamps and put in projector LEDS that throw down the FORD logo when the puddle lamp is on. Looks slick....and it's reversible if I want to restore it back to stock puddle lamp. They come with a hole drill. I drilled out the stock puddle lamp and inserted the projector module and crimped connectors on the LED. Popped it back in. Looks GREAT at night....only 10 buckazoids.
