Awesome mods bpd!!! Keep it up cause I'm living vicariously through your mods right now :)
I do have some funds set aside for that mobsteel grille though..... I think I may be as excited as you are to get it!
Great job on the side vents. I'm thinking of blacking mine out completely and then doing the Taurus lettering in silver.... yours look great on the white though.
All in all, very tasteful mods. Love 'em!

Looks good.
What I was trying to say in the earlier PM, have you thought about painting the oval areas a different color? (In your side vents) Paint that area black and let it dry. Wipe off the high areas with wax or rubbing compound. This will leave the lower recessed oval areas black. It will make the vents look like they are real. I used Photo Shop on one of your photos, here is what I'm talking about. Ken

Here's a teaser pic (pre-clearcoat) :

Chrome deleted, gloss black replaced it, then the letters are factory OEM White Metallic.[/QUOTE]

Wow, that is the shit dude!

Could you have formed and replaced the black plastic {painted matching Ford white on your finished version} with and nice heavy chrome, or white {what was I thinking} grill piece? Then at the end of the day you're not drilling out plastic to make it look a grill but ya gots a real grill. I'm just saying...

And yeah, did I say Wow? ...cause that cool white SHO looks hot!

With all the chrome pieces subject to peeling, I've been thinking of getting them painted myself. You've given me some ideas. Thanks.

Dang it Mike! Stop doing things that give me ideas. I've looked at what you did to the back and I like it so much that I am considering attempting to move my Taurus plate like you did, but I like the SHO emblem off-center, so I would leave it alone, so I can't be accused of copying your idea (well, at least not completely). But I've looked at your truck lid pictures at least a dozen times, trying to decide to attempt it.

Also, I wanted to say that I love what you did to your side vents. Really visually stunning, especially on the white car! I would like to do something with mine, but I just don't know what would look best with the red. I've done my hood stripes in silver, so I would like to carry that theme into the vents, but not sure what color would look best, thinking (maybe) painting the center red, and the "Taurus" red and leaving the chrome outer chrome...just not sure how that would look....again, your side vents are spot on!

Started on my own mod of the Taurus lettering this evening. I used 4lb. test Fireline to loosen the letters and then got the remaining gunk of the trunk lid using WD-40. Now in the process of putting the double-sided tape on the letters. My biggest fear is having my brain freeze up and mis-spelling TAURUS when I put them back on the car. Still undecided with what I'm going to do with the SHO emblem but at this point I think I am going to lower it from its' position to the same position but below the crease line. Will update as this mod moves on. Again, thanks, bdp1511 without your help this would never have happened. Can't thank you enough Mike.:urock::salute:

I'm trying to eliminate a good majority of the chrome on the car as I have learned that prior SHO's did not have any chrome.:

Gotta say I'm liking everything that you're doing, it looks great.

Just wanted to point out that some SHOs actually did have chrome. Some cars (late gen 1/early gen 2?) had chrome window trim, as opposed to black, and some Gen 3s had chrome wheels.

Not really a fan of chrome myself though, so keep on deleting it all, in my opinion.
