Nice! now...the most time/money spent was making the mold/tool to lay-up the final part. Do you own the mold? Do you have the mold? If it were me, I would have the mold in hand!! Then others could benefit. NESHO or SHOsource could have more pieces made!!

There is no mold. Period. This was all hand laid & hand sanded. The 'SHO/EcoBoost' logo is custom cut out of a metallic white vinyl, then 4 layers of clear were shot over the entire surface.
If there was a mold, believe you me, I'd be establishing proprietary rights over such mold.

There HAS TO BE A MOLD! There is form to the part! There are flanges! Carbon Fiber, just like fiberglass, comes in a roll, then a 2 part resin holds it all together. IF it was flat or just curved, any form would work as a mold. I have used a section of a 55 gal drum as a form/mold for some prototype parts. Some mold release, some 5mil stacked wax sheets & bondo as a radius made my flanges. There just MUST be a form he laid it up in!

Nope there's not. Foil on original cover, CF hand laid over that, resin hand laid, sanded, sanded, and then more sanding. Vinyl applied and then cleared.

Part of the delay was due in fact that he didn't have a mold. This was his fourth go around at it. We changed up some things for the final attempt due in part to the troubles he was experiencing during the first three attempts.

It was certainly a process indeed. Which I completely understood. It was only at the point where he ceased all communication did I seek out relief via the criminal complaint route.

But it's all good now. This will be (at least until someone else may decide to attempt something like this for themselves) a unique, one-of-a-kind mod.

OK, thanx. I'm surprised it came out as well as it did since he did it backwards! So its basically a duplicate of the original. Would of been SO much easier & faster if he just cast the original after applying off-set wax to it. then it would be duplicate-able!

If you are painting your side vents, another small detail is to paint the inside of the "Taurus" letters a different color.

Let me know how the hood decals turn out. We can compare styles.

Thanks for the photos, I can't wait to see the finished product. On the white the color match looks great, especially on the LED surround, but I'm not so sure on the red...I kinda like the contrasting color. Good luck with the stripes, look forward to the finished product.

They surrounds look great, so do all the other changes you've made, like the decals (both hood and Livernois) and the black vinyl on the door handles. I am just not sure how the body color would look on my red car, I kinda like the silver contrast with the red of the car on the LED surrounds, but your car looks great!

It would be easy to make a mold off the oem engine cover and do a layup,mmmmm maybe I will look for an engine cover and experiment. Havnt done any CF work for awhile at home.

Very tasteful mods bpd. I originally wanted to get the tri-coat white, but was disappointed that black was the only interior color offered. I wasn't sure how much of a contrast it would be with the white exterior without some black accents on the outside. As far as the grille,it would be interesting to see how the grille would look with the silver/argent bars painted tri-coat white. I don't have the time the next few days, but I'll see what I can do on one of your photos next week. Mine's Tuxedo Black, I was thinking of painting the bars on my grille with clearcoat tinted with black to give it a kinda black chrome appearance.
