I have the 11.6 front disc upgrade on the SHO. If i was to upgrade the front to maybe a 13" will i be able to use the front discs and brackets in the rear? or are they totally different?

I know there is the rear upgrade kit for the rear, but if i can use what i have why buy it again.

I thnk there is some sort of spacers needed and you can use lots of what you have.

The way the rear kit is set up you need to use the 90-91 rear hubs, get the spacers to fill the space between the center hub hole in the 96 rotor and the smaller mounting point on the hub, and it uses the stock rear calipers. There are variants of this, including Chris' 13" all around, but this setup keeps the parking brake useable. If that feature is not important then you could come up with lots of choices. Like alot of SHO stuff, there's just not a wide array of off-the-shelf solutions out there. But putting something together isn't too hard if you're creative.

One Meeeeeeliooon dollars!

Edit: helps when my responses actually have some technical data in them. :)

You can use rear hub (we have adapters for 89' hubs, 90' - 92' hubs, and 93'+ hubs). You will have to use rear calipers from a 90' - 92' as they are wide enough to clear the vented rear rotors. Other than that we have a full kit on the site and the only extra parts you would need are the calipers.

Or we can get you brackets to use the 13" brakes on rear. coughOverkillcough ;)

13's way to big in back, won't that throw balance way off, doesn't 11.6's even throw things off?

I'm still a little confused over this whole rear brake upgrade thingy, since I have a 92 with vented rear brakes, are all I need the bigger rotors or also different hubs?

Tony your hubs are fine. Here is the link http://www.midwestsho.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/102_49/products_id/70

What you will need is the adapter to move the caliper further off the hub so it can grip the larger diameter rotor properly, the spacer ring to fill the center hole gap-- because the hole in the middle of the '96 rotor is much larger than the one in the oem sized rear rotors, and I forget if the bolts were longer than the oem ones. I installed this a while ago.
Basically everything in the kit. Of course you could forego the pads and rotors and get those yourself, but the kit makes everything simple and the Perf. Frict. pads are decent pads too!

I've been around now for 11 years plus....I just want to know; what are " Slotted, Cross Drilled and REINFORCED Rotors"? Guess I've missed something. How do you 'reinforce' a rotor full of holes? Weld them up??

Don't go any larger then 11.6" on the rear or you will just be losing speed and troque on the low end try ing to turn a larger rotor. Also you will be trying to slow down a larger caliper ie 13" of turning force you are not gaining anything over the 11.6. This has been talked about before if you would like do a search.
