    MTX rebuild

that I did not know. Perhaps the getrag I drove was a beat up unit. I'll have to see if you can keep the stock mounting points for the getrag and still fit a SHO motor in with an adapter... I know the getrag is certainly tougher than our trans so that would be a good option for adding FI later

    MTX rebuild

I always used first. Good to know it takes a few tries by design. How much would a tranny for parts run me from one of the guys that I know have piles of them? (if anyone here has sold/bought a tranny from the guys here) Or depending on price, a tranny known to be good/ already rebuilt...

    MTX rebuild

Alright then follow up question, are there any other transverse 5 speeds that will bolt up to our motor? I'm actually swapping the motor/tranny into a fiero since a drunk blew the car apart. So a tranny swap is always possible if there are some with a more substantial aftermarket.

    MTX rebuild

I hate to do this to you guys since there are a lot of threads out there on our transmissions, but I haven't found any definitive answers to my questions which are as follows: -Are any parts on the MTX pre-loaded? (aka is it gonna explode on me if I just try to crack it open? I'm guessing no...

    Possible clutch issue?

Was parking my car night before last and noticed that the engine would rev down a little at random below idle, the exact kind of rev down that I would get all the time learning how to drive this car (first stick). Then yesterday I pulled into the lot by my place to drop off rent and when I...

    More codes

Thought of a different way to test the spout connector and I think it would work alright (at least from what I understand of the spout system) To get some facts correct: removing the spout plug causes a 10 degree retardation in ignition timing below TDC This results in a noticeable (if not...

    More codes

Just did a more thorough check of the SPOUT plug. With the key in the ignition and the electricity on, the plug was not giving any signal to my meter (set for 20 ohms scale) turned the car on, checked the plug again, and the car shut down before it gave the meter any signal, tried 2 more times...

periodic cutting out and tach drop

Didn't mean to imply he should worry about the crank sensor. Just wanted to mention it since I just had both of mine go out back to back.

    More codes

quite possibly, I'll have to do another test tomorrow and see. This last one was a little rushed (woman yelling at me). I'll be back tomorrow with those results

    More codes

i put the probes in the slots where the pins on the connector go, the color coding was all messed up so i had to test it both ways, one way gave me .1 and the other gave me -9.93 which i assumed was the right way

    More codes

tested the SPOUT connector and it read -9.93 ohms resistance, I'm assuming this means the connection is good and the 219 code is stemming from something else?

    More codes

Well looks like I'm back after finally solving the bucking issue, had to have both the cam and crank position sensors replaced. Now the computer is spitting two more codes for me to deal with 176- i know this corresponds to one of the O2 sensors on the exhaust needing replaced so hopefully I...

periodic cutting out and tach drop

I would check both the cam and crank sensor since they do the same job in different places, I just had both of mine replaced to get the same issue as you to stop. The tach would cut out and the car would buck or bump as it were. Mine is also a 94 mtx. Just pray it's the cam sensor since the...

Looking for rim& tire information? Look no further!

Then could you guys refer me to a thread or some site that has an easier way to get the strut assembly out of the car? When I replaced my rear struts a couple months ago it was an absolute nightmare to get them out of the wells... I really don't want to go back in there for obvious reasons...
