Antenna

The top nut is fragile, soft pot metal boink . Use either a custom made tool with notches of appropriate size, snap-ring pliers with the bits well-taped, or Channelocks with jaws well covered with electrical tape. Be careful not to let the latter two slip, or paint damage WILL result. This...

    PLEASE help (antenna)

Use the search function under "SHO Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Electronics and Audio",registered member 1802. Apparently, I'm the local "antenna Nazi", and have studied this issue more than necessary. If the search posts don't answer your questions, send private e-mail.

    Window trim

Upper window trim, black on 94-95: how does one remove these d@#n things?! I need to replace one (Note: go to the yard for these! I’ll not insult or anger anyone by repeating the quoted Ford price for this unassuming bit of plastic and metal), and perhaps remove all to paint the B...

    cool wheels on ebay

Bump this up! I rarely bother my source (brother-in-law, master mechanic at L-M dealership, 18 yrs. exp., used to moonlight rebuilding Volvo/Saab trannys), but I'll ask him about these new wheels.

    cool wheels on ebay

The all-important questions: Offset? Width? Hubcentric w/Gen II? That's a great looking wheel, and may be more available than Gen III SHO wheels....

    Suspension Redo

Dave, Thanks for your pointed comments on the spring "rubbers": they have saved many members from expensive mistakes. [ May 04, 2003, 12:15 AM: Message edited by: Mongo ]

    Change antenna to stationary one?

Search "power antenna problems" on this subforum. Sir, you are not alone.

    Snapped the power antenna

As usual, SHO89 is correct. Do a full search using my membership number, and all of your antenna questions will be answered. I share your opinion on antennas, and have converted to one fixed, one switch actuated. [ February 09, 2003, 01:18 AM: Message edited by: Mongo ]

    Turn Signal Problem

Ford part number F4SZ 13K359AB. When I purchased mine a few months ago, it was less than $40.

Thanks to all for the input; guess I asked the right question! I'll post a report after the investment is made.

    Subwoffer for Stock JBL System

Fellas, I'd recommend a search on the topic. A formerly prolific poster (I think he's currently covering our ass in the waters off Iraq) gave me advice on a sub that fits in the JBL box. I never followed up, but it's out there!

    Khumo, Sumitomo, Yokohama, or ?

Bridgestone Pole Position! Tire Rack says $156. Best set of tires I've ever owned were $$ Bridgestones: useless in snow, but brilliant dry. Especially capable on wet roads, where lesser tires don't meet the grade and you smack into the rear of granny's Tempo at the stop light.

    lube the power antenna?

Project89SHO is correct. These antennas leave just a bit to be desired (I'm being very polite.) If you currently have slippage, replace antenna (easy job, do "Mongo" search) AFTER removing the motor unit and performing maintenance. Currently have one with power antenna, another with SLO...

    Car wont start keyless entry

dunndt, The problem may be your battery under any type of LOAD. I've learned the hard way that sufficient voltage/amperage is key to today's vehicles. I've seen more than one car (to include a free truck!) cured of all problems with a new battery. Many of these problems eluded decent...

How do I remove my cassette, and CD player?

If you're really cheap: Several (10) years ago, I asked about such a "special" tool. A Ford mechanic laughed his ass off at me, then stated he used thin welding rod bent into a "U". I use same, but heavy coat hanger wire. Works like a champ! In a pinch, a regular coat hanger section will...

    shocks/struts, experts

Thanks, folks. BTW, your responses DID enrich this site by $30. It's a pittance compared to what you've given me. BTW, the sub connector comments couldn't be more true. "Big Red" has a pair from Doug Lewis, and they make a HUGE difference, so other designs may help even more. If you don't...

    Replacement struts help!

Folks, This is a topic that interests me but from a different perspective. See my other posts on the topic, as I've spent considerable time planning to do the job right the first time. If I was seriously fund-limited, and absolutely had to do it tomorrow, I'd purchase Sachs struts, Moog...

    touring/sport

See my post/replies below (Jan 04). OttoSHO also asks similar question on suspension problems subforum. The unfortunate solution? We’re gonna have to find someone with a SHO who has a good setup (Tokico or Koni w/Eibach) and decide if it’ll suit our needs. A decent drive on the streets of...

    shocks/struts, experts

Thanks for your excellent replies. I think before I drop the cash, I will attend a SHO Club meeting in Chicago, and very politely request a short ride on city streets from folks with Eibach setups. I'm not afraid to spend good money for good products, but I do wish do avoid doing the job...
