code OK. Code 114 appears to be Air Charge Temp, and only means the car's engine is cold. Ignore. Another Ford site lists code 114 as IAT sensor out of range. I suspect the former is correct. I left a message for Jason to look for more codes. Unless no codes are in there because the...- DennisT

1st code report Finally. Jason got a chance to go back to the Coast driving a truck, so he's overnight there. I armed him with the, "how to pull codes," text from your suggestions. He just called to report the Ford shows a code 114. No others, just 114. He said the paperwork I sent along...- DennisT

thank you Whew. What a thread this turned out to be. Thank you everyone. Jason has to return tomorrow in another rig, (darn), for an appointment here. '92 SHO DOHCams: non-interference?
Boy has a 1992 SHO, with Yamaha Dual OHC 3.0. I have been reading these forums to see if a timing belt failure would damage valves, etc. I think I am seeing these engines are non-interference and such an event would NOT harm the engine. Am I right? Thanks, Dennis- DennisT

I might as well confess and ask: what exactly does the abreviation, "DIS," really mean? I couldn't find a sticky talking about it. A parts house might actually want to know more than that when I begin calling in the morning. I know where it is on the engine, but know little else about it...- DennisT

Yamaha engines: how good are they?
New here, and it probably sounds like it. Son has a Yamaha equipped 1992 SHO, with5-speed. How good are the Yamaha engines? Did they only equip SHO's with them for a couple years? Then Mazda or did Ford ever build an engine for SHO's? Parts interchangeability? Thanks, Dennis- DennisT

trouble Last report today from Jason: I think he's run out of ideas short of, as he says, buying fresh components and beginning swapping out things. I suggested trying to find a local Auto Zone, etc., that might pull the codes again for him. Not sure if he'll make that yet today or not...- DennisT

Dis Oh, one more thing: WONDERFUL photo of the DIS location; thanks. I mentioned that over the phone. He immediately recognized that device by description and said he had a mechanic go though it in the recent past, and felt it should have been eliminated as one problem. Dennis- DennisT

tnx, and.. Thanks, 93. I just called him on the Coast and told him. He said car was acting up again today so in the morning would be a good time to try unplugging the MAF. I suspect that is the boxy looking thing that has a cross-hair air sensor inside. Fragile, but problematic. I'll see...- DennisT

This is not going to be a very good beginning here. Our son lives 300 miles away and bought a 1992 Ford SHO about a year ago.
