Thanks again, your a wealth of knowledge. This is next on my list of fix-its. The SHOs got 178k on it and the exterior/interior look incredible but I don't think it was mechanically taken care of at all. I've done alot of "maintenance"...to use that word loosely.
I'm sure I'll have more...
I was putting a new neutral switch in my 95' ATX and while I was there I noticed a sensor just below the neutral switch that had a VERY frayed wire going to it. Intend to make some sort of repair to this wire but I'm not touching it till I know what the heck it goes to. Checkout the pics below...
Thanks so much. I wasn't even sure what this thing looked like or where it was located. Got under the dash and checked it out...one of the wires had broken off from the connector. Nipped the connector off and soldered the wires onto the BOO and now I'm good to go (after adjusting the new neutral...
BOO - part # or other name??
I hate to sound like a complete ***** but does the BOO (brake on/off switch) go by a specific name or part number? I'm having trouble tracking down the item on rockauto.com.
Thanks ahead of time as it sounds like this should fix my issues as well.
I got an estimate on getting my struts replaced on about crapped my pants. $1000 isn't kewl in my book. I usually do all the maintenance on my SHO but I've been leary of struts because of the spring compression horror stories I've heard of. So, I've got a couple questions.
I've never done a...
Freaking 214!!!!
This is the last code I have and I can't shake it. I've replaced the CID unit and I still have the problem. Sometimes it runs fine, others not so much. When its running crappy you only notice it at idle when its shaking the **** out of the whole car.
Suggestions???? I really...
I've cleaned the intake, specifically the nostrils and the whole path the EGR flows down. I've also replaced the o2s today which eliminated the two codes pertaining to them. I have a new CID sensor coming in tommorrow morning so hopefully that'll take care of my 214 error. That leaves me with...
Yeah, we pulled the intake off and did some serious cleaning on it. There was alot of build up in the EGR passageways and the intake itself. Heres a side by side pic of my dirty one and the clean one.....pretty much speaks for itself. You can see in the left hand EGR nostril the 'plug' of build...
GREAT photo to accompany this post. It was exactly what I needed to get me started. If cleaned out the left nostril pretty good. I get a coat hanger wire up quite a ways now. My problem is the right nostril is not giving in at all. Does it follow the same path or does it branch off...
I bought this SHO with 175k and I have no idea what the maintenance history was on it. I mainly bought it because the interior/exterior where in unbelievably good shape. I figured that way when its broke down and sitting in my garage at least it'd look pretty :)
I replaced the water pump...
The cars running roughly and sometimes sounds as if it will die but doesn't. We ran KOEO and KOER testing process and got the following codes:
111 - System checks OK
116 - (O,R) Engine Coolant (ECT) sensor out of range - ECT
136 - (R) Oxygen sensor not switching/system lean Left or Front...
I have an ATX SHO and I've done the whole 60k thing. Problem is, how in the **** do you hold onto the crankshaft pulley and the water pump pulley to tighten the bolts? As much as you have to torque the crankshaft bolt I couldnt get anything to keep it from moving.
Suggestions?
